And how, exactly, do you expect a fitter to replace his offside mirrors on the hardshoulder?
I was driving a RHD, but would have done the same in a lefthooker. Just takes longer and more observation is all.
OR you can sit on the hardshoulder (which is a dangerous place to be) and wait for a fitter to attempt the impossible…
maybe he didn’t set off like that.
maybe another lorry driver swiped him with his trailer when he was looking at what everyone else was doing, taking photographs of them and that sort of thing.
I don’t expect them to that’s why I said OR recovered.
Says it all really
G’nite folks.

if this had happened on the motorway the police would of attended and he would’nt of been allowed to drive it like that,so odds on says he’s taken it on the motorway like that.
unless it’s just happened and somebody’s just kept going

More observation? You for real? You didn’t even notice his mirrors were missing. You can only observe what you can see and with no mirrors you can see ■■■■ all. You shouldn’t be on the road if you think that’s ok.

I would get him to follow me in the van to the next junction and safe parking place and I’d do the mirrors for both of us and use the lightbar if need be.
If I had to on the h/s I’d get the unit angled in as much as possible it’s not a long job with a cordless impact wrench. I it was a tight h/s I’d do it from inside through the window.

Very true. I’ve no doubt he was going to get it fixed but was probably trying to save on a call out charge.
Hang on - the police would have attended? Why?? My mirror got ■■■■■■■ - I drove to the next junction, phoned the Old Bill and got given a crime number for insurance. Gave the details of the tipper, was asked if I could continue and told to report to my local nick with my paperwork and to make a statement. I speak English - WTF would a foreigner be able to achieve on a 999 call?
The Police would have no reason to attend a NON-INJURY moving traffic incident.
Now I really am climbing on my bunk, this is getting silly…
I did see the mirrors missing, and the damage to his offside - just couldn’t see how that made him a lunatic. Unless he was taking a photo on his phone of the damage whilst driving…
G’nite, I bow to your superior driving skills, higher intelligence, wonderful photography skills and bigger cojones…

i would’nt be wanting to go past that in a nissan micra and he takes a chance on nothing being there
That’s right go sleep it off, don’t know why but when I read your replies I do it in a drunk voice.
In a shorter length rhd truck then I think you could make a judgement call on continuing with the o/s mirror gone to the nearest safe place off the motorway or even to a dealer. What’s pictured is madness and an open invitation for tragedy.
This bloody forum is getting beyond a joke. You can post anything you like, and all the morons will come out to play and jump down your throat no matter how dangerous the activity you were pointing out in the first place. Fast thinking its time I had another break from this stupid place and its idiots that defend everything, unless you took a pic when driving then they think hanging is too good. Give me ■■■■■■■ strength, only here would taking picture while driving be the most reckless act a driver can do

Luke, I didn’t expect that from you, Mate. I was saying that it didn’t make him a lunatic necessarily, apparently that makes me a moron…
Oh no!!! Please I’m sorry I’ll be good!
Was there a catastrophic accident after this pic was taken? Was anybody hurt or killed? NOOOOOOOOO. Move on FFS!
