Low loader snaps carrying 65t steam train

A LOW-loader carrying a 65tonne steam engine has collapsed on a main road through Wareham Forest.

The engine was travelling on the back of the low-loader from Wareham to Bere Regis when the low-loader collapsed on the Bere Road around 200m from The Silent Woman Inn.

The engine, which is operated by Swanage Railway, was on its way to the West Somerset Steam Show in Taunton.

It appears the low-loader has collapsed in the middle, taking a 40ft gouge out of the road.

That’s one TRAIN of thought.

Guess his journey has been derailed AND he probably has an unplanned night out

HA!

Guess I better make tracks and steam on with my load then.

Good luck drive!

Now that’s what you call a low loader.

I bet he was steaming

Should have had super truckers doing the job

Doesn’t look too bad to me. Jack it up with a couple of bottle jacks and give it a few spot welds. Good as new

Bloody speed bumps/

too much strain from the train

Thomas has got fat!!!

After the phone call, the gaffer is said to have gone absolutely loco…

Silent Woman, great pub, sod the broken lorry…

The low loader’s driver said that he was taking it from Swanage to Taunton in Devon.

Since when was Taunton in Devon?
