Ive been given a job for tomorrow to goto folkestone lorry park to do a trl swap.
Is this the same place as the euro tunnel truckstop just off the A2070 nr sevington?? As thats the only one i got coming up on my TT and if its not then can anyone let me know where the folkestone lorry park is…

Iv bin ret.6yrs but then there was a ferry ran f/stone bouloune and you could park on the dock but i would think the park you refer to will be the channel tunnel one, hope this helps.

Ashford international truck stop(use to be called the eurotunnel stop) on the A2070 off M20 junction 10. post address GSE Waterbrook ltd,waterbrook avenue, sevington.nr ashford,kent TN24 0LH.

You can also check on here transportcafe.co.uk/ they usually have good info on truck stops etc.
Best double check with the transport office when you pick up the motor.

I’d be tempted to say that Ashford and Folkstone are counted as different lorry parks.
Maybe I think that way because I have previously parked on the docks at Folkstone (and on other occasions in the truckstop at Ashford).
Either way, I’d be looking to get confirmation before you depart. 
I would ask my boss for more infomation in order to save him on fuel and hours, otherwise he may suffer from his own severe stupidity, with me running around Folkestone to find the Wild Goose he sent me chasing.
you used to be able to park on the harbour / docks down there opposite a big hotel. but like dafdave it was a while ago

Oh yes i definately will confirm where im going tomorrow with traffic office its just that i like to get a bit of a heads up 1st so i dont seem like a complete welshlad 
plus also it gives me a chance to test the truckstop poi’s i downloaded for my TT…
whenever i get a job i always check out as much as i can the night before ie bridge map TT and now my recently purchased autoroute 2007… after all…Preperation is the foundation of professionalism (besides i was bored not many postings on tnet today )
Im taking a full trl to folkestone thursday to swap for another full trl for me to tip at magor friday so i assume im meeting one of the boys either off of the boat or the frog pipe.

Why is it ok for you to ask for location details but when Welshlad does it, he is an embaressment to Wales?

There is a big difference between asking for conformation or clarification having obviously done the homework and just posting straight off, week after week, without doing any research first. For instance looking in the list of RDC’s that welshlad is pointed to every time he asks. A list incidentally that has the details of nearly all welshlads recent requests.

He did recieve some ribbing, no more than you would get as a new lad in any yard, he responded by sending a few rude personal messages, i recieved one from him myself. Obviously I can’t comment on PM’s but using someones name in a derogatory way as Reef did with Welshlad just doesn’t seem right to me and I’m all for banter in the yard. Maybe I just am more touchy, I don’t know.

In the same way that all vacuum cleaners get called Hoovers, doing any internet search is referred to as a Google or altering a digital image is Photoshopping it regardless of the graphics package used, asking the same thing over and over again is now known as doing a welshlad.

As a professional driver i have checked the basics of my run tomorrow along with sorting out the minimalistic night out gear i will need to take and yes of course in my own time how else would i be able to do it bill the client for doing my homework??
And seeing as your taking such a keen interest in my posts you will no doubt know that i am an AGENCY driver …and it was the AGENCY that rang me today to give me the job details… which as any AGENCY driver will tell you …you will never be told the specific details as they very rarely know all the details to an individual job as a lot of them tend to be one offs…
