The drivers supposed to be ok, I would still be screaming for about 40 years after.
Apparently it was already closed to high-sided vehicles when he went across?

Hmmmm. I fear his troubles may only just be beginning…
Lorry blown over in high winds on Humber Bridge
The owner of the haulage firm Star Transport, based in Norfolk, said the driver of the lorry was safe.
If it was closed which living within sight of it I think it would be, he should be made to pay all the costs for the recovery and bridge costs. the mans a fool

.
… and this wasn`t being monitored
Begs belief sometimes
All that time and cash wasted for the sake of some bimbling to be had to prevent this occurence.
Lessons learnt maybe yet again -or not .
I don’t know for a fact if it was closed.
Also I believe the bridge now uses electronic passes to get across and not people in booths anymore?
He passed the toll to get onto the bridge as its at the Hull side.

Why does it need to be monitored?
He has no one else to blame but himself if it was!!
If it was closed to trucks, I’d be curious as to what the Insurers would do - I think they could have a strong case for not paying out.
Exactly, this could prove very costly if insurer says no.

There is both if you have a tag you drive in a lane avoiding the booths, but they do have big signs saying if its closed to high sided vehicles.
Could all the thousands of drivers that have had to go round bill the company for costs if the driver has ignored the signs?
You didn’t take that wrong turn again did you, Martinviking?

Why Not
From that op pics, i can see hundreds and thousands of pounds spent wasted of Co. & tax payers money , when an £8. security munkee could have been manning the booths for closures . ( no offence to our smokin monkey of course ). but you get my drift .
… and yes your correct - but, we are assuming that as a multi national /cultural highly visited Country by many People / Cultures and Languages ,
that their 1st /2nd foremost understood written reading language is English … are we not
.
So why not ? man /person / monitor access when things start to escalate , before the poop blows into the fan .
To Assume - make an asse outa u n me.
On BBC Humberside, they said that the north bound side was closed obviously but the south bound carriage was open to cars but with a 30mph limit.
Not the best decision made by the driver
