Typical trucknetuk reaction, the police go to the trouble of putting up some good advice and what do they get back, yes the usual crap, what is wrong with you people■■?
this was exactly my thoughts whilst no they are not catching them at least someone has taken the time to make drivers more aware.
if the OP could post an apology for all of the above first then it may help, also possibly promote the fact that they don’t hand sentences etc. down when they do catch offenders.

i just read in the local paper that derbyshire police are closing all but 4 of their front offices , and those will only be open 9 till 5 .
I will try to address some of the points raised above.
I can assure you that other operation are in place targetting other hot spot areas/crimes one of which includes burglaries as mentioned above. The reason for this particular operation is due to a rise in lorry related thefts in our area (A1 from Blyth to Newark) and has no relevance to the victims being businesses.
Some of your negative experiences from the Police may be from within Nottinghamshire and some may not, clearly I can not apologise on behalf of all of them.
Nottinghamshire Police treat all victims with equal importance and I can assure you that any report of suspicious or criminal behaviour particularly around thefts from lorries will be dealt with with an appropriate response.
The purpose of this operation and the posts on this forum are to increase patrols and visibility and to offer crime prevention advice to drivers all in an attempt to reduce further thefts.
Thank you for your support.

4 fuel thefts in last year,
Don’t think it makes any difference where you park, or which side tank is, everywhere is fair game.
As the police know where and when these crimes are taking place, they must be looking out for the criminals so this stretch of road must be the safest in the country now!.
Al Notts has to do is to follow what Yorks has done. ATM, there are only 3 laybys left on the A1, between M18 and M62, and they are soon to go.
Yorks will soon have ZERO truck related incidents on the A1.

perhaps the Police ‘plain-clothes’ artics could have nights-out and catch the thieves red handed?
