Jesus wept, have you seen the ages of those charged.
Something has gone seriously wrong in this country, a fish rots from the head down.
just read about this elsewhere , and apparently in 1965 when capital punishment was abolished there were 282 murders , in 2013 there were 1047 . I’m of the opinion theres no deterrent for whats happening .

Times have changed massively even in my lifetime (I’m 33) back in the day a disagreement was solved by a bit of a scuffle and maybe a black eye or a bloody nose, unfortunately nowadays people will stab someone without thought just as easy as years ago you’d punch someone, there is no regard for life anymore.
This is the main reason I have been taking my son karate since he was 5 yrs old,he is 8 now…as a parent I feel a responsibility to equip my child with a means of self defence should he ever need it.

And you are right to do so.
Society is racing to the bottom even faster than our job has, and i can only see it getting worse.
When we were kids we played games like Cowboys and Indians (That’s bovine attendants and Native Americans to the younger pc ) war games, cops robbers etc , after imitating the old John Wayne type films… Ok it was in the 60s in my case, the films we imitated were pretty tame by today’s standards with little true violence and gore.
Somebody was shot and they went down groaning holding their chest, now you see heads being graphically blown off, and limbs being severed.
Just look at some of the computer games some young kids play on today, the level of violence is unbelievable, and shocking.
Kids today have become anaethetised to violence, imitate what they have seen and so we get where we are today.

FTFY - not too many cowboys galloping around on cows back in the wild west!
(granted, they “attended” their steers, so maybe i`m just being pedantic)

Unsure where you get that figure from as in 2013 there was +- 550 murders a 30 year low iifc . It may have risen to that amount if you include manslaughter and acts of terrorism (Road and industrial accidents can be classed as manslaughter ) there was a couple of years in the early 2000’s that where higher but they had things like the 172 included from Harold shipman

15 yr old[my mistake I said 13] charged with murder, and what will SHE get, couple of years max and be out boasting to others not to mess with her as shes been inside for murder, she wont show any remorse whatsoever, little piece of sxxt, when shes 18 she will get all the help she needs from the authorities,[benefits, council flat etc]while the truckers wife and kids will be left to struggle on,typical scenerio

I got it from the article I read my apologies , I stand corrected . I still think the punishments given out is out of proportion to the severity of the crimes though .

Yeh you are mate, but not correctly
They are attending COWS (bovine) on horses, not HORSES (equine) on horses.
2 out of 10 for effort and spellings only.
And if you really want to be pedantic a lot of cowboys were galloping around on, ok not cows, but bulls…aka rodeos.
Well you started it mate !
Sorry to drag a serious subject down to this level btw
You don’t want cowboys delivering to indians… Or are they the new cowboys?
Have absolutely no idea as regards the circumstances surrounding this murder, but say what you will, even the death penalty was not a deterrent to those that committed murder in the past, just as it isn’t in the countries that still have it…

Not quite - The youngest one actually charged is 15 (which is bad enough!). The 13 yr old has been released on bail until December, at which point she may or may not be charged.

Not exactly. There were plenty of examples in the day where this type of zb went on.The difference being that in the worse areas it was often taken and dealt with personally on a family feud basis with the police being seen as more a hindrance than a help in that regard.IE do you really think the police would have got the chance to sort it out if that had happened to one of the Krays etc for example.Violence usually seems/ed to be more a reflection of over populated Urban life than anything anyone saw in the movies. On that note the choice is often one of either being prepared to meet violence with greater violence and forget about the police being of any help.Or move to a more civilised more rural area.
References to the ‘wild west’ are extremely apt for such a place as Basildon. Estuary Essex is a living nightmare!

Maybe no coincidence that it has the reputation of being where many of the worst aspects of London’s inner city society were moved out to.
