Nothing wrong with some good craic with your mates at the weekend.

Its quite ironic really that we are talking about loosing the war on drugs on a topic where 2.5 million has been recovered on the back of a lorry.
I think it is right that we seem to be fighting a never ending uphill struggle but this doesn’t mean the only answer is to cave in and let it happen!
Ask yourselves this: Would you like your son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter to be hooked on the [zb]? No of course you wouldn’t but if you legalise it there is a ■■■■ good chance instead of our kids getting hammered on a weekend up town with alcohol they will turn to getting smacked out their faces on drugs and the knock on potential addictions with the ease of which it could be obtained.
The point is to legalise drugs & then control them in a proper way. I personally think heroin , crack etc ( the nasty drugs ) would be available by prescription only. But if we make less harmful drugs easier to come by then we eliminate dealers which in turn makes the nasty drugs virtually impossible to get hold of.
Look at prohibition in the states. No alcohol so everyone made their own ( moonshine ) unregulated high alcohol nasty stuff. Once prohibition was stopped people went back to drinking what was available in bars. Thus eliminating the bootleggers.
Controlled drugs would be a ■■■■ sight safer than the stuff that’s on the streets now. And it wouldn’t be mixed with all the crap that dealers put in it. And the strength could be controlled too.
As for my kids getting hooked on drugs. I’d also hope they don’t become alcoholics or smoke or become obese. But you know what they will try it all wether I like it or not so I will give them the best information I can.

I can only repeat what I said earlier about the Scandanavian countries, moonshine is swilling around the place because booze is so expensive, and if the booze, drugs etc are controlled by the government they will still be available from dealers either cheaper or stronger!
You think there’s no moonshine in the USA?
Try any southern state!
Maybe so but it will reduce the amount of people buying it drastically
Hi all.As Mickfly said, the amount of moonshine up here would warm the heart of Al Capone. Not surprising when a 70cl bottle of cheap blended whicky starts at about £30.Finland and Danmark are a bit cheaper while Norway is even more expensive. It is no wonder that smuggling is so prevalent. The same applies to drugs [anywhere],while the profit margins are so enormous nothing will stop it.

I’ll wager less people drink moonshine now then when prohibition was in force !
We haven’t got,or had prohibition up here but there isn’t a shortage of ‘‘homebrand’’ stills. It’s a question oe economics. If you just want to fall down go for the cheapest route.

But no ones proposing that legal drugs would be more expensive. Its just a question of control. And as a lot of drugs which are easily available are in fact massively dangerous the need for control is great. It really is time to stop sticking our heads in the sand and shouting go away evil drugs.

How much dearer do you think legal cigarettes are in the UK (Government controlled prices to some extent) compared to snides, which people can buy quite easily from ‘dealers’? I think the supply of Government controlled drugs would be similar… too expensive, allowing a cheap alternative, it wouldn’t get rid of the dealers!
the maoster:
A page ago Luke said something about town centres at night, well he was bang on the money there; I’ve yet to hear of anybody off their heads on drugs ramming a broken glass into a passerbys face!
Things like that and worse seem to happen quite often in Stoke if the local rag is to be believed.

Deserves every day and then some.the misery that heroin brings to every community in Britain.
Totally agree
If he were in Thiland he would be hung, drug dealing is a vile crime, anyone who deals in drugs deserves the worst possible penalty.
