This is getting really borderline on the rules front, lads. Keep it on topic and watch the old personal attacks, please. I won’t edit at this stage, but if it can’t stay civil I will edit and then yellow card.
Just makes you think of how many drivers you see just pull away in a morning without a walk round to check lights, tyres, no. plate, pin, back doors, etc. etc.
Coddy:
Then tell pratts like him to stop posting about something he very obviously knows nothing about…simple aint it.
Looks like I hit a raw nerve.
Listen matey, this topic/thread was about a truck driver who was tragically killed in a lorry park. It’s not about you, and how hard you think you are!
nick2008:
Think this ones gone as far as its safe too
Why do you say that Nick? Surely not because one poster on here, is trying to impress us with his “I am a hard man, so watch it” statements. You must be joking . I for one, have been around for too long , and in far more macho situations than TNUK will ever throw up ,to be impressed with that sort of crap.
I align myself with the “pratts like him” who, for having the cheek to disagree with his point of view are referred to as wimps and scrotes.
All of this arising from the majority of the posters on this thread having the basic decency to offer their condolences to the Family of a driver, immaterial of where he came from, or what nationality he was, who had been killed, in what we can only assume was an accident.
If doing that was Wimpish, then so be it !! To that charge only, I plead Guilty, but un-ashamed.

Exactly!
Lymm this morning - I watched several drivers open their curtains, turn on their engines and just drive off without even getting out of their cabs! Unbelievable!

well said buycrider, completley agree with your point.however,i hope you now realise you are in the “whiter than white” brigade for daring to offer condolancies.
MY condolancies are offered(even though i didnt possibly know anyone),to the victim, his family, and the driver involved, and that this tragedy could happen to anyone of us,when we least expect it,going about our daily jobs.
Its was not a case of hard I am, it was a point that Zona Franca could be and was sometimes a trouble spot, just a shame that some on here deem themselve higher than others, esp doing a post on a subject that he knew nothing about, simple.
As for not offering condolences, so what I dont slate others for offering, its just not my thing to offer it on here in this case, so why should I be slated for that, Ive said before if we all agree then it would be so boring…
And of course as usual the ones jump on the bandwagon, if you cant have a discussion without looking at both sides of a point, then dont join in, again its not difficult is it??
Coddy:
Water off a ducks back, I dont know his family, nor will I ever meet them, so why would I bother offering condolances to em, unless of course I wanted to try and make myself look like a caring sharing saint on here…
Still with Buycrider here. I don’t care if people want to think it sanctimonius, but it saddens me when people are killed in accidents. I came incredibly close to saying bye bye a few weeks ago and am still trying to get well enough to go back to work, and that was my own stupid fault! Maybe it makes this feel a little closer to home for me, maybe not.
But I wonder, if the driver HAD been someone you know, Coddy, and someone else posted that they were unconcerned, whether or not you would be so sanguine then.
As for Zona Franca, it isn’t a case of “can be a trouble spot”, it IS a trouble spot. Parking there is a choice, and one I wouldn’t take. Not for fear of trouble, but more for the additional hassle with the law after trouble.
Bob, many people die every day, 6 in tower blocks in London, Michael Jackson, life goes on, some people will mourn me when I go, some wont, there are 4000odd members on here, and only a few of the more prolific posters have offered condolances, fair enough, just dont slate ones who have thier own reasons for not doing so…
As for Zona Franca, I did as you, always tried to park away from the place, usually to arrive early morning to get the paperwork in, and leaving at 2 when I got said paperwork back. Sometimes though it was not that simple. Yet where I had a regular tip, a place called Gava a few K’s south of Barcelona, it was a different world, friendly folk in the countryside, like you it was the africans that seemed to be the cause of the grief down there.
coddy,i am not trying to “stir”.the fact is you have said something, ie had a go at people for offering condolancies.whether tounge in cheek, smiley or not, dont say you havent done something which you clearly have in black and white a few posts earlier.
that said,i have no problem with your view on the matter,i respect your point, some do,some dont.it would be a very boring forum if everyone had the same view i would think.
with that said, can we now get back to the thread heading?..
