Are you sure thats Tutty I thought it looks more like Robbie coltrain whilst he was filming the Harry Potter films. The other one with the beard looks a bit like Denny Belbin.I might be wrong as usual.Regards Todd.
Todd I can see where your going with Denny Belbin But I dont think so.The First pic is Steve aka Hooter who was Mr Slaters second in command for a long time but who is, I think now in charge of the workshop for Calor. The other is a very young looking Paul Nicholls maybe this is when they both worked for either PJK or Johnny Davies.Of Course I could be completly wrong which is what happens a lot these days.

Hello Tony,
The guy in the middle is Ray Sansome - First met Ray when he came up to Bulldog International pulling to Italy. He had his own 113 Scania & had just pulled off from Sayers of Newbury at the time.
I next came across ‘Rasher’ when he pulled for buzzer, got some pics of the new 143 Scania ( K?? MBK) he had somewhere, will try to dig them out.
The party maybe a Davies X-mas bash, Steve used to come along to them? Or maybe it’s a Dave Morgan party we went to at St Deny’s social club?
Send my regards to Keith mate & have a Happy New Year.
Jed.
Good to hear from you Jed after so long…hope you,re keeping ok.
Thanks for identifying Ray. If you,ve got any old pics lets see them mate.
Will speak to Keith later mate and will pass on your regards.
Happy new year to you and everyone else…Tony

Hmmmmm must be an old fogey then Tony as I remember that cafe although it was before I could drive, I remember going there with an engineer whilst working during the summer holidays (I think I was 15) for Trants as a chainman, when they were putting in the new mains sewage system for that area, their site office was in Shepherds Lane, Compton.
Another of Chris Hills pics this time, one of Bakers ERF’s parked outside Hill’s garage at Botley he thinks the driver may have stopped to ask if there were any jobs going!!! Just look at the cable drums loaded sideways!
