The Fréjus Road Tunnel is a tunnel that connects France and Italy. It runs under Col du Fréjus in the Cottian Alps between Modane in France and Bardonecchia in Italy. It is one of the major trans-Alpine transport routes between France and Italy being used for 80% of the commercial road traffic.
Construction of the 13 km (8 miles) long tunnel started in 1974, and it came into service on 12 July 1980, leading to the closure of the motorail shuttle service in the Fréjus rail tunnel. It cost 2 billion francs (equivalent to €700 million at 2005 prices).
It was the fifth longest road tunnel in the world (as of 2005).

Hi Bubbs thanks for the pic I had seen it before in CM I think, we were pulling for BCT who had taken over from ROBA to and from Italy, the driver was Pat Scorey
This is how I bought it off Tony (Hot to trot) Bradfield.
And it was also ex Robinsons of Ipswich
And had also been in an accident with them, Pat Scorey had an accidenty as well when he skidded on the way towards the Frejus Tunnel in France and went into a ditch but we repaired it and off she went again
Thanks to Marc (Bubbleman) of The Scrapbook thread for another Southampton Firm Meachers again.
Regards Pat
