Dunno what you mean Shady, why would i remember that place in particular ■■?
What are you trying to say you old git. ■■?
Seriously Steve, great old photos mate, happy days aye.
Can you remember who was driving the Cabmont Daf ?
Ainacs
Welcome back from your hols Pat, Tribsa,s been trying his best in your absence.
Will you be in yard tomorrow mate ■■? If so might pop in.
Not Tony Gaitral? That name rings a bell or was he from Marchwood?
Regards Pat
Pat.
No not Tony, and he was at Hythe industrial estate. He ran 4 wheelers mostly , and later on, a Maggie V10 tractor unit, but he never went on the continent with any of them.
The driver, who drove for Terry, I think was Reg, but I can’t recall his surname, someone will no doubt remember…
Been trying to think all day of the Dimplex contractor, definately out the forest way, again, someone may remember them.
Mappo, Hope you’ve got plenty of money Tone, I hear those lemonades are expensive in the Wheatsheaf>>
And here was i thinking i could rely on you Fergie what with me just being a very poor lorry driver,
S,pose i,ll have to raid the piggy bank then aye.
I was thinking Dave, why oh why did,nt we bother to take any photos back in the days of
Oberyield and Simons.
Dont suppose those names will mean anything to anyone else aye mate.
What about your old workplace Geco,s garage at bottom of St.Marys.■■?

You were always the wealthiest driver I knew mate, best trucks, best companies, and best paid. I’ll bring a tyre lever to help you get your wallet out !!
Simons / Oberyields, ran the Albions, Leylands, and Bedfords, then the ergo cabbed Leylands ,mostly 4 wheelers with just the 1 X 6 wheeler. Trying to remember some of the drivers, Big George, Mike, Pete ( gawd blimey ) Jimmy Carlin, Pat Carlin. Streeter , Charlie Cull in the warehouse, Jim from lee-on-solent, expect you’ll remember a few more !!
Taking pictures with film and paying for the developing was expensive in those days mate, and we were poor ! Camera’s have come a long way since then, bit like trucks !!!
Ah, GECO’s, so if I said, Blond bird, and Curry’s van ■■?
Fergie
Re Oberyield / Simons. Remember Graham Shipton, was it ■■ the manager who lived in the big house
at the top of Titchfield Hill and Harry Udell from Stubbington that i used to go with on a Friday night to do
the driving for him ( when i was 17 or 18 ) . Who could forget Charlie and his mad antics.
Then of course there was the TK Dave was,nt there. Doncaster or bust was,nt it ■■?

tribsa:
Could the firm from the Forest with brown lorries be The Oughton Bros.
:
Tribsa
Not the company I’m thinking about, They were running the older Seddon, the Coventry Panel cab, not the 400 type, around the early 70’s. I’m sure they were dark brown / green. They definately had 1 tractor unit, and may have had a couple of 4 wheelers. And I’m sure they were out Ashurst / Cadnam / Frimley, on the edge of the forest, to the west !
ainacs thamust be a good camera to get those two in at the same time!!! pat dont look any older than he did when i saw him last which must be 8 or 9 yearsbut mappo sorry mate but looks like it has caught you up mate, bit gray loose the beard that might help but would not put money on it ha ha!!!
if i remember right the reason R&G bought a daf was because you wanted one because of that Gulfsped daf. and i hav’nt seen any mention of le souquet or the green hut in porto
Rich… you really know how to hurt don’t you.But you would know about age,you who got his licence thro grandfather rights…

Still it’s nice to know your still about and kickin’,s’pose you still got the Foden for you sin’s…
Tir Tone…Can’t belive what I’m lookin at…Pat S looks so much younger than the last timw i saw him…Shame about the geriatric holdin on to his hand for grim death,he vaguely looks like some one i used to know
Ricky…Yeap i was pro Daf in those day’s,i never had any problems with’em.
Pat,
Was that picture taken at Cadnam Garden Centre because we have one of those gnomes in our garden but ours has a fishing rod, perhaps Pat S got him cheap
