G H Gough at Morestead were home to that thieving load of vagabonds called ‘Cranes and Commercials’ who as a consequence of one deal caused me to be raided on suspicion of stolen lorries at both my home and yard which were extensively searched and nothing was wrong!!!

I may have bent the rules a bit in haulage but never ever handled stolen lorries

Reagrads Pat

Sorry Pat ,didnt mean to drag up a bad memory mate :frowning:

Marc

Judging by the registration number on the right hand truck (Reiver?) they are local but cant remember where from.

The AEC in Totton lorry park could that be a Clapcock one
I had to say something we were dropping down the list

Hi Richard happy new year to you I must admit that did cross my mind but I don’t recall Clappies having shiny tanks, I could be wrong though

Anyway another of Bubbleman’s Scrapbook gems an early Scania Vabis with a Southampton connection Jamesons.

Regards Pat

Hi Lads , while we`re on MANs maybe mine might qualify , had her for 5 years mainly on USL . Les and Karen Flack helped with this trip to Romania .
Seasonal greetings , Frenchy

It says Smart Freight but could have been O/D

Not sure but didn’t Ray Wyre have a Crusader on there before his Transcon?

Regards Pat

This is a tenuos link:

It’s Southampton, lorry park behind the pool circa 1974.
Its a MAN from Rumania.

I think that encompasses a lot of threads there! Even Frenchy’s trip to Rumania in an MAN!

Definitely Ray Wyre’s motor, and as you say, after that, the Transcon.

Hi Bev, I think that you are most certainly talking Rod Redgrave.
Others who knew him even better may wish to elaborate. Go for it !!
