hi dreva well we were tilting the cab over and on the early scanias they had a wire strop for the cab stop but it broke and the cab went right over the bottom grill got smashed and the light board fell out it stayed like that for ages
bet that made you jump ron

The tilt behind Paddys Kennworth was Henry Tyrers who had an office near Lorraines Les Watts ran the office for a while. Tyrers were from Liverpool I believe.

Kenny drove an F88, as you said, for JS around the early '70’s. It was on contract with AVON tyres out of Melkisham. It also ran a set of AVON’s on road test for them. Tyres out to AVON’s depot at Geneva, and Rayon cord back from Balle.
Ken was off ill for a few months, and I took over the run, and the truck, till he returned. Every so often it would be tyres out to be delivered all over Switzerland ( Milk run) very enjoyable, as the scenery was spectacular.
Kenny retired from driving with Squibb, and if my memory serves me correctly, went to work full time at the Social club in Totton as Bar manager.
I’ve enclosed a couple of ( not very clear ) photo’s for you.
