Hi Buzzer no its Pete Green did work for Sea Route, Shamara, Bob Cartwright, Pat, and numerous others brilliant signman used to work for Zillwoods as well, he’s still about Buzzer if you need any thing hand written, oh yeah he also did my old F88 which is on here some pages back.
Went over to see Pat today but the yard was locked up like Fort Knox but like you say he can’t be playing Goff today not in this muck !!! Shame really I had some posh biscwits, I would have even shared em!! Next time I’ll pop over yorn, bet you got bigger cups than him !!!

Hey Jim used to run with Bob Cartright quite a bit goin back, we used to do containers for Macpack from the old docks at first where Thoresons used to run from , then they moved up to the new docks.Remember me to him mate if you see him again.
Hi Buzzer will pass that onto him John popped into see him toady with Pete the sign writter and we go straight back 30 years mate some of the story’s funny as you like !! When I was on for Bob I used to do MacPac I had a twenty foot Mac on one day I think it was Rugby or some where like that one of them with the curtain sides I stripped it out lined up all the metal bars stood up right against the side the fella went in with the fork lift and just caught the first bar when he backed away they went down like a load of dominos the last one came right down on my foot broke me big toe !!!
Christ that hurt still drove back to Pompey changed the box!! can’t afford to stop!!! That was with LCG911T

Jim i used to do alot of castings to the ford tractor factory at basildon and i had a fella called Mick who was transport manager for star car transporters did night runs to the same place, when he got loaded down the new docks in the early hours he used to give me an early mornin call and id’e go in for the day shift, the old motor still all lovely and warm. As you say another M H moment.

Hi Buzzer ain’t got any pics, there is a car transporter thead on here and there is some on there, I had an 86 when I was on there PYY 762L good little motor until you night away and trying to kip in it 
but I came from Meachers before that and I had a Scammell Handyfella on there so a Volvo was a treat !

Thanks for the pics of Star Transporters, god that takes me back when they were in westquay road in the yard TIP was in. Its all built on now hotels and shops etc i remember the
puddles in that yard they were like lakes and some were a foot deep, cheers Rob.
Yes Jim it was Micky Sheppard that drove for me on nights but he was always tired mate.

Dennis White’s nipper went to work for Prince’s Commercials. Dennis had a Fiat 130 Coupe which I believe they were fitted with a Ferrari V6, a very rare car these days.
