Any way it was at the top of Bessy Les came over on the CB and said we are gonna make it now cos i can smell the sea, stupid pratt. We stopped for coffee once round Paris and he said we’ll have ten minuites shut eye over the wheel but dont get in the bunk or wev’e had it, any way we caught the boat with 20 mins to spare, how many times did we do that. Another Mary Hopkins moment Jim.

Hi Pat I called in on Mr Bob Cartwright on Friday I remember you saying a scania with a crane so I went looking and I found this Scannie with a crane didn’t know if I was in the right place or not but there was a fella changing a tyre in front of the motor so I said “I’m looking for Bob Cartwright” he looked up and said yeah that’s me, it was the glasses that throu me we had a right old yak for a couple of hours was great to see him looking so well, 27 years vanished !!! I did tell him about the Aug roundup which he knew nothing about if it’s on this year he said he’ll try and get there, he said he’s been meaning to pop over and see you, I told him about your Thurs Rea Party’s !
Anyways as Buzzer says another Mary Hopkins moment!!! Woooops thats you off again

Regards Jimski
I can see it too BigG-unit, instead of Auld Lang Syne, or Land of Hope and Glory, it will be “Those were the days my friend” etc etc!
So now its a case of learning the words right thru for a competition prize on the day. “TIM, get the karaoke machine out!” (I doubt if he has one)
Here you go Pat , just for you and any one else who wants to join in. I shall expect you all to be word perfect by the time of the reunion when we sing our anthem. When you read the words of this song it is very apt to alot of us wishin we could go back in time and live it all again.
Hi Buzzer I’ll bring me drum kit along we might make a few bob!! Tim may even hire us again cos them old Rawlings boys can sing !!!

R Jim
No story…too long to explain for those that don’t know!
mappo:
Charlie…sorry mate, i cant remember who that was.
Concorezzo aye, cleared in there many times as we all did, usually withthe ISR
rubber that we used to take down for Colin Wilkes when he was running Hocfun.
I got broken into one night myself in the town outside…was it Lauras bar ■■?
They nicked all of my personal gear ( i,m sure that some of you will think they did me a favour
)
and when shipping home i had to wear my overalls on the ferry and was mistaken by a few punters as a crew member.

That aside, i spent many a good night and occasional weekend there.
Hi Tone,
I think they said he looks like ■■■■■ he’s come in his overalls !
Hope you are well mate
How did the tests go ?
Gazzer
These pics of Sonj are you having a mid life crisis ■■

Excuse me for gatecrashing your thread, but I think Mr Buzzer’s saying is great! I was thinking, maybe we should start a ‘Mary Hopkins Moment Movement’ and if 'n when you can’t even say it you would know you are too old for anything!
or, at least, too pi**ed to drive! Another great idea
would be to close your reunion each year with a great rendering of “Those were the days my friend”. I can see it now!

Hey BigG Unit i got em’ at it now but it’s good to remeniss about the old days. Your idea about singin at the reunion is good as well, i judge by your handle you may have driven a Guy big J or am i barkin up the wrong tree, regards Buzzer.
No, nothing as grand as that! I only ran four wheelers for twenty odd years, quite low key, usually British makes, though I did have a Merc & Daf towards the end.
The name thing, I think someone asked before, Was a combination of, my drivers referred to me, between themselves, as Big G, I think to establish that although I worked along side, I was not really one of them!
My grandsons, when they thought I was cool
called me G Unit after a Hip Hop Rapper band that they thought were cool also. They only refer to me as G now, so I think I’ve been rumbled!
All the best with the re union, cheers for now, George, (BigG-Unit)
Thanks for that Pat
That has really made my head throb,
I have always been into Tina Turner.
much more dynamic

I would like to have been into Tina Turner! However age has been against me.I`m more of a Vera Lynne person myself.Regards Charlie. At the reunion I expect we will be with Pat singing rebel songs.

Brother Mick said if there is any singing to be done he is the man for the job especially rebel songs

No Rich. It was the only foto of The Joker that I had not put on here and i didn’t feel it was correct to Photoshop her out! Much as i might like too but the truck wouldn’t have looked right.
