Was it “Ghost of Dot” that Jimmy Carlin plonked in the Dock in Le Harve ?
Yes, absolutely correct, wonderful what an evening of drinking can do.

Loaded with candles IIRC and apparently they used to surface over many years thereafter, Buzzer.

Hi all, apparently there was a piece in Motor Transport that Hampshire council are proposing a Sunday ban on truck’s in the county and stopping all truck’s from overtaking on Hampshire motorways, well that will do the economy good. I have spoke with Mr Shepard and he is OK with a gathering at his place on the August bank holiday Sunday if anyone is interested. Richard that really was a good locking chap that drove F90 RCR. Hope you are all ok in Wellow. Horry don’t listen to Badger he is jealous because he is nit as funny as you.

Thanks for the Support there Kev, I was considering offering Badger a start as my warm up act, but he can forget it now. I will be at The Wheatsheaf Sunday August so look forward to seeing you. I will have a five course meal before I come, thus preventing me buying a burger from Mr Shepard for £50. Unless of course you still have the DKV Card from F90 RCR and then the Milky Bars will be on Rich & Angie ■■
Hi all, i have half a dozen off the orange and green round trailer marker lights and a couple of bigger orange lights if any body want,s them to bling up a truck like WE all used to let me know free to a good home.
Never wishing to miss an opportunistic money making venture, I’m off to Bookers in the next week or so, Pork Scatchings, nuts, crisps and Dorito type things that I can lay on as an independent supplier in the shaddows. I hope those of you conversant in the green weed dealings on the street will be discreet in their purchases so as not to arouse suspicion by the Mastine owner or his Rottweiler wife.
Rolls and sandwiches in the car park opposite.
Barbecue in the field adjacent.

Gazzer a crisp (note the pun) new £20 note coming my way will keep your secret from exposure
Not essentially from Southampton but Salisbury based but always in & out of the town, still going strong today and often see them when I am on my way to Frome Market, a change of colour as today most companies just have the factory white and sticker the trucks up. A loyal company to the Volvo mark Dean’s have bought a lot of trucks from Princes in the past and MC truck & bus.

Bring back some memories or some, Buzzer
Is that an Iveco in the background a 159 or a170 ? I never knew they operated any of them

From a bit of overloading too I reckon. BTW, I thought it was an ERF in the background.

That is an ERF But at the back of that you can just see the NSF of an Iveco

In 1983,Meachers acquired P.P. Brady & Sons Ltd who operated at least one Iveco (1981 Reg) which may well have been repainted in Meacher livery
Hi all, the first time i met Micky Mathews (RIP) he was driving an 88 for P.P. Brady. That was too many yer’s ago to remember must have been early 70’s.

I reckon you’ve solved that little mystery right there, they did have ivecos but much later (stralis)
Hi
Meachers also ran this Magirus HCR 772 X which I think from memory was acquired when they took over Southampton Road Transport (SRT) Bob Terris Meachers boss phoned me one day to ask if I would like to purchase it from them as it was an oddball in their ERF fleet, which I duly did. Here you see it in Spartruks spray shop in Richmond St.Southampton being sprayed into the colours of another well known Southampton transport company, who Roolechat will recognise LTS Freight.
It has always been a bit camera shy as you can see from Buzzer’s transit photo, the other photo shows it hiding away in the corner in Lorraines.
Regards
Richard
