So just to get it clear…if a pic has a copyright, or copyright logo plus a name, it can be used if the photo is published with the details in place ? or is it only with the Copyrights owners permission ?, but not to be used if the copyright is taken off ?..
There is a consensus of opinion that if a copyright owner doesn’t want his picture “re-published” or to be shared, best not to show it in the first place …it certainly narrows it down, after all, once it’s out there it will inevitably be “passed on” to other interested persons / forums throughout the world…
If in this instance the owner has stated that he’s happy for his photos plus the copyright logo and his name to be shared, good for him…no problem…
I’ve put lots of my own photos up over the years on this thread and other forums, and I really don’t mind who sees them or passes them on, as what would be the point of posting them if they weren’t for sharing…is it a bit of a mine field ?

Know know children, i am probably wrong i normally am (according to her in doors) but i thought what buzzer said was right and you should not re-post photo’s that had a copyright on them without the permission off the owner of said photo,(just because they are already posted that does not mean that anyone can use them) if there is no copyright you can do what you like. I’ve got to say that the “hand gallopers” that deliberately re-post shots onto other “platforms” regardless and obviously without permission are ■■■■■■■ thieving “bell ends”. I’ve no probs with my shots been reposted of TNUK but there are some ■■■■■■ trying to make a living off them by selling them on E’Bay etc ! I have thousands of lorry photos but I wont put the on here for that reason.
I would love to share them with like minded people.
But some think its there god given right to put them in there company portfolio & now live off of reselling them.

Gotta say that is the best excuse I’ve heard , you can’t take them with you “tribsa” when you ascend ( or descend !) to the “Big Café” as my Good lady says to me regular “who will want all those photos after your day except to sling them into a skip when we have a clear out” Cheers Bewick.

I am pleased to see this thread is still active, it was going strong about 14 or 15 years ago when I joined, same arguments same outcome, there are tens of thousands of great old photos out there, most are not copyrighted and if they are they are available on Google. Apple. Banana and Raspberry.
Like tea leafs work, if no one bought the stuff the tea leafs couldn’t sell the fence rails, nails or posts.
Bet old RTD is happy now there has been more page one action on this thread in the last 48hrs than there has been for a long time. We have even got criticism from abroad for our petty arguments about he said, she said.
Glad to see you still looking in Ian and telling us off happy new year to you by the way, remember the fake £1 coins you got as change on our baccy deal we had at Les Slater’s garage, laugh I nearly bought a round of drinks, but then we all went for a beer at 1/4 to 2 so we did not sup to much and would not be able to drive home, MH days them, cheers Buzzer.

Can we resume business as usual now please? I have been reading, following and occasionally posting on this thread for about 7-8 years now and that is the first time I have seen anything but positive posts! I am a member of a number of forums and you get disparaging remarks on all of them from time to time… I agree, onwards and upwards!!
