In early 2015, I finally retired from driving lorries for a living,
having been at it since 1965, so I don’t get to drive on the
motorways very often. Last Sunday I was on the M6 & M62,
and earlier today on the M6 & M65. I was driving my car at
about 60 mph,and the 44 ton HGVs were hurtling past me
probably doing 70 mph. I thought at first that these
satnav jockeys are running “On The Wire”.
I then thought that following the EU Referendum in June,
and the new Prime Ministers several visits to Brussels,
perhaps Theresa May has increased the “56 mph Speed Limiter”
to 70 mph… Is it me ? Ray Smyth.
Must admit, I took a chum down to Cheshire to collect his new second hand Volvo. I followed him back up the M6. My speedo read about 62 all the way. His said 56.
Hello Chris…what prompted the colour change do you know ? which would have been in the early '60’s I guess…the older brown was bit austure, and the red / blue did look better…
