Hi Richard, I found a derv agency card in the pocket of the Southampton F.C. Football shirt.
Its one of the old ones where you have to sign the chit in the filling station, I will have to
learn to sign Tonys signature when I draw fuel,it says on it “Only for use in National Benzole Sites”
Tony says it will be OK, Half the lies he tells are not true.
Regards, Ray.
Well Ive had enough too, Im off on the 10th, Newhaven/Dieppe.
Car loaded (overloaded) to 1.7t without me in it. Er Indoors likes Galaxy chocolate.
12500 tea bags of various flavours.
22.30 depart Dieppe…estimated 19.00 at home for a well earned steak dinner in the local hotel!
Layby snoozing obligatory.
6 weeks of being bossed about! Then back to work for a rest!
Great to see those that showed up at Tim Sheppards. There’s always the November soiree!
You and me both , Sportage way over weight , chest of draws (had to take the legs off to get it in , all the draws filled up ) , 50" TV , workmate ,chop saw ,clothing food etc , off to Santander in the morning via Portsmouth.
Safe journey to you Gazzer and Kerbut. Bonne Route and Vaya con Dios. For one moment I wished I was doing the same. Then I realised that when I drove from Alton to the bash I had to have two breaks. One for a pee and one for a kip. How long would it take me to get to Espania? Given up the idea. Gazzer. The do at Kingsworthy. Is it only for HGT or can old pensioners come? Regards Charlie
Thats a great find roolechat, i drove for Jim and Barry Squibb in the early 80,s…
By then they were running in the name of Transport Services, though there were still a couple
of the by then old Squibbs tilts…very young looking Barry in that photo, but Jim looked the same 10 years later.
They had some good work when i was there, IBM, Rank Xerox, Gillette and Royal Mail, to both Spain and Italy…
PS…It wasn,t all good, we also did waste paper and scrap metal exports…
Mappo that was a good find eh, as you know I went to school with Barry but he is a year younger than me and they started in Bartley our old mucker Fergie would know more. Did a brief spell for Squibbs in a GUY big J and back then they had alsorts of trucks, JD.
More than welcome Charlie to Kingsworthy. Just an idea had for a more formal gathering with dinner in the corner of the pub, in the darkness of winter!! Something like saturday 12th of November or maybe the week after. Only to fit in with others. Steve Matthews needs notice, others maybe too. So bear it in mind. As dinner is involved notice must be given to accommodate at a table.
Hi Gary
We use Bowlers on the Ave Southampton for doos anything from a finger buffet to a three course lunch we have our Christmas party there and you are all more than welcome but it has a disco so no good for chatting or concentrating on forging permits, time sheets, running sheets etc.
But I can speak with the land lord and sort a good do if you want.
Cheers
Rich

Hi Jimski and R-Jacko,
I’m not sure if I have put this on before, but I had a painting done from the black and white photo of Bakers Scammell Contractor double heading the ERF LV six wheeler up a long incline. The photo doesn’t do the picture justice!

Hi Mark who was the artist ■■

Hi Jim, the artist is Phillip Thompson, I used to work with him. He mostly does animals but did the Bakers one for me as a bit change and a challenge, I think he did an excellent job and like I said, the photo doesn’t do it justice!
His website is phillipthompson.co.uk

Rich, There was only 5 of us at the 2015 Kingsworthy scoff. I wouldn’t think this year much different, it’s not on the Shedfield scale. So thanks for making us aware of whats on offer.
