Hi Baldrick it was a 290 ■■■■■■■ found this on internet looking a bit sad
Kev
wow, yes that does look sad! A 290… Was there not one at that time that was from Belgium or somewhere that was tweaked a bit?? My memories crap but I seem to remember something like that.
Hope all good with you. Cheers, TUS. ( remember , I had stu in my windscreen at one time and you naughty, naughty fitter boys changed the letters round? )
I cannot remember if this was 1967 or 1968 I know I was driving a old Commer van at that time carrying Antique Furniture to Alencon approx 120 miles from Le Havre…
This time 600 Group who owned Pollock Brown the scrapyard at Northam.
I remember when I worked for Frank Harris (Harris Demolition) loading those trailers with scrap when he demolished the Heavy Plating Workshop in Portsmouth Naval Dockyard around 1970, I think they had Scammell Couplings!

Never felt old to be honest
But do wonder where all the years have gone!
I suppose I don’t really feel my age, but I think Sue does, as quite often especially when in Ireland we would go into a bar and she would say lets go as I feel so old in here!!!

Hi all, turned up my collection this morning to load a container at a place not too far from Charlie.
It,s on an old farm at Upper Wield near Alresford.
Anyway this is what I found
Specsavers again Jim…It’s too modern for Charlie, they never made a steam driven A35…
I don`t mind you poking fun at an elderly pensioner and war veteran. At least you are leaving Mappo alone.
That photo has been taken at I think David Laileys old farm which has been turned into units. He used to do a
bit of work for A S Rawlings.
As for the A35.Thats in better nick than my buggy.Although I do have my old TIR plate on the front.
Regards Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I am sorry these lads keep poking fun at a chap who has fought for his Country, with no respect for your age, I was telling Angie how rude they have been whilst we were visiting HMS Victory in Portsmouth Dockyard, she couldn’t believe how small your bunk was and the cramped conditions you lived in.
Mappo was probably loading tractors at David Lailey’s,I am surprised though, because when he last visited us he stood in our kitchen and said he was an Extractor Fan
Anyway I,m still here and have been since 0800 loading steelwork.
As Charlie said this is all units now, sort of.
You were right Charlie as to my location as the following photo will show.
Are you paying storage to keep your car here. .■■?
Not yo as well Tony. Yes that was my car. But I was not able to keep up the payments.why didn’t you let me know where you were. I might hahe come out some sustenance for you? Time for my nap stay lucky mate. Regards Charlie
