I recognised that place straight away… My first trip that way( for PBC in a Berliet…) I arrived there , wi nae a clue laddie as they say … I wnt up to an O Oners volvo and tapped his door. He wound down the window and I asked what the procedure was. He said . " I had to learn mate. Now it’s yourturn " then wound the window up. What a nice bloke!The last time I was there was in about 2009 on a trip in my old vdub camper… the road hasnt changed …I parked at the lake and wondered how the hell we got up and down with old style braking systems etc…
I remembered a trip when I tipped in Lyon for Uncle John and he said to go to Italy via Cenise, circa 94 before the weight limit… Was a breeze in the FH 12…

Found this pic of a Lambert Bros F88 Volvo NEL 728P (I think)with a tandem flat trailer.Regards Pat… I remember that Volvo very well! It arrived in the yard , '76 I guess and was given to a very nice fella called Alan ( his surname escapes me) . A million miles away from the rest of the fleet , all Atkis. Power steering too ( and a night heater) unbelievable luxury for the time…

Hi Shady, yeah I thought I’d give it a go, I want to get another Merc for me business , and my money tree ain’t showing any fruit this year ! So thought I’d give it a bash, it’s only on that thread, and Gumtree, not put it any where else… Yet. Don’t get much time to ride it !!!
