You can talk Mr Mapson, bits and bobs .I remember when you worked for us it took Les Slater 20 minutes to remove all the crap out the windscreen when taking your motor for MOT.

Some “anorak” might be able to tell that something is not right in this foto.

The location is the Pizzeria just off the Naples Peage, where 4 of us were holed up for the weekend carrying lifeboats to Castellamare di Stabia. We were enjoying pizza, beer and timing the prostitute working the other side of the road, between clients (as per another post).

What was the time ratio for each client, thats what everyboby wants to know Gazzer.Talkin of pizza do remember the pizzeria at Genoa where we used to go with the Skillbeech loads bound for Libya, they used to do a huge pizza twice as big as normal and if you could eat it all they would give you another carraf of vino free, another MH moment.

I can’t understand why you parked so far away Gazzer. :unamused: :unamused:
Looks like a reflection to me.

We needed to park where we could keep an eye on our tractors! On the doorstep.

My truck has an unusual registration number. Not sure who’s it is…another STS reg. I wasn’t due to go on this trip but VHO502V couldn’t do the trip so I was substituted. Only trouble was the abnormal load movement orders were already made out and couldn’t be changed so I had to remove my reg. no. and put VHO502V on my grille. Luckily nobody asked to see any other docs. for the vehicle. Especially as the Italian Police (Polizia di Stradale) looked for any excuse to relieve you of money.

Kerbut I think that was C B Morgan and weren’t they dark green in colour? I think they may well still be operating not sure though!

CB Morgan did Livestock and Fridges, they cut back to one Livestock truck on a pig contract a couple of years ago, as far as I know they still run the fridges

My uncles drove for C B Morgan for around 60 years between the two of them, driving rigids mostly on livestock. I used to spend most of my school holidays in the 70s, with them. The main work in those days was livestock, but they hauled most things including round timber, hay, straw etc. Mostly Leyland/BMC, before turning to Mercedes then MAN in early 80s although they ran a few Scania’s, Volvo’s, DAF’s, ERF’s in amongst the Merc’s and MAN trucks. Morgan’s were owned by Vincents at Yeovil from around 1964 but this ended in about 2005 when they were running 5 ERF and 2 MAN tractor units in white with green writing. Eventually sold up in 2008 while also running 3 DAF 95 super space cab and 2 Volvo FH tractor units plus a Magnum in a different livery. Never pulled fridges as far as I remember. I use to like the longer distance runs in those days, like regular market trips to Ashford Kent, Haywards Heath, Portsmouth, Coggan’s abbatoir Fareham, usually late afternoon after Shaftesbury market. We also did Banbury market regularly. Good old days

AINACS mentioned a Sea Route subbie a bit back…Dave Bicknell, who drove for Edwin Shirley Trucking on general haulage with a little bit of corporate entertainment work thrown in. I found this foto elsewhere which was ripped from a mag. Dave’s F89 was similar to these and it had 2 chrome strips on the grille in the shape of a “V”. His CB handle was “Super V”.

Just back from a wet week at Weymouth, Chickerell to be precise.
