On paper this place should be great, large parking area, fuel, restaurant, bar, showers and shop.
In realty what u get is pot holes that will rip your bumper off, fuel pumps that you can’t use unless you get there own card no one has ever herd of , they don’t accept keyfuels anymore! , the food is disgusting cheap rubbish, I paid £6 for macaroni and mash, I got macaroni from a tin and powdered mash wtf! If u want to wake up with stomach cramps in night then eat here, the bar is depressing and your garanteed a bad pint (Cleen your pipes and taps)
The shops great if you need a high visibility jacket and a tow rope its got ■■■■ all else
The only redeeming feature is the showers but even there a bit small
Do yourself a favour if any one is considering parking here try eclefechan truck stop first even a layby is beter

Why revive a thread over 2 and a half yrs old just to slag off L.TStop for your first post? an Ecclefechan vested interest maybe??
jessicas dad:
I haven’t revived the thread but I think Ecclefecan is loads better as well and cheaper.
Yeh ok JD, I agree with that, and the old Lockerbie park was even better, you could walk into town for a pint and not be a captive audience, not too keen on t/stops but better than a lay by.
Mike-C:
How long have you been driving to just find out thats its mostly other truckers that steal from trucks?
I’ve been driving long enough to know that it wasn’t always that way. But of course, that may have been before your time.
And long enough to not be in any way phased that you and renaultman seem to think it’s acceptable that truckers steal from others!
Your apparent lack of any sort of conscience about the situation says more about your own professionalism, or lack of it, than anything I could say.
I drove many years in the UK basically 100% tramping, away every night and parked in some bad places and never once had anything stolen from my truck ever, cannot believe the audacity to be honest.
Stopped at Hilton Park today, left the cab for ten minutes, fresh cup of tea to get me though the traffic at Brum, came back some pleasant ahole had removed my nearside mirror glass, nice and neatly done, even unplugged the wires so I won’t need to get new terminals, Bar Stewards.
shuttlespanker:
that’s nothing, i had one stolen from one of my trucks whilst he was loading at Carlsberg at Swan Valley, the driver had only gone to the toilet for a ■■■■, when he came back, it was missing
Just to go off topic for a minute, does anybody want to buy wheel arch top for a Renault, a set of trailer lenses, and a nearside mirror glass?..all second hand

topboy trucker:
Why is it that when anybody posts up a thread to warn other drivers about thefts etc from a particular place do other users just take the p**s…
Yes, it does seem like strange behaviour. To many it might seem normal to simply steal something you need! There was a time when such behaviour caused outrage among a close knit group of professionals, but those days seem long past!
Thanks for the warning TT, I’ll bear your warning in mind when I park in a truck stop with other so called “truckers.” And also the cavalier and couldn’t-care-less attitude shown here.
They say there’s no honour amongst thieves, but obviously there’s little self respect amongst professional drivers any more either.
No wonder there’s so much whingin’ and ■■■■■■■’ on here! That’s the easy part of being a professional driver…

Just what I was thinking. When I 1st started you couldn’t even leave your lenses on your trailer.
Still can’t.
Used to have to take ‘lights and lenses’ off certain trailers if we did drop and swap - mainly the round style, but a driver brought a trailer back other day, double deck with the \ . / style light units, you know the ones? Anyway, nearside lens missing, no damage, no plastic pieces and unit was intact as were all bulbs, so either fell off or stolen - both are possible with that type though tbh.
I’ve had an ad-blue cap stolen before now, didn’t notice until I came to fill up with ad-blue and there was no cap to remove … Boss: “when was it taken?” Me: “Between Friday at 7pm and Wednesday at 3pm”
yeah the ferry tyres game! used to work for a guy that if you came in the yrd wi a trailer wi newish tyre s on it was go to the chippy and when you came back different tyres on it
left before second wage lol.

Well, I’m at Lockerbie truck stop this evening. Been a while since I’ve been here when it’s actually open. Rather surprised to see that a young lady is actually having her 21st birthday party here. Maybe time to Febreeze my armpits, use spit to flatten my hair a bit, then go gate crash this thing, possibly even stealing a couple of ‘wheel arch covers’ while I’m at it. These are obviously the classy kind of birds. Stretched limo’s and everything.

Wow man! …you really know what to do to attract a woman , how could they possibly resist that??
Just to let anybody who uses the new Lockerbie truckstop that runs parallel with the M74 to be on there guard as i had 1 of my rear wheel arch tops stolen there on Tues night…i thought this was supposed to be a secure park■■?..and to make matters worse, when i went into the cafe the next morning to tell whoever was on about it she just turned away with a smile on her face.
It has just cost me £130+vat to replace it …just because of some thieving lowlife [zb] who probably damaged the one on his truck and he is not man enough to tell his boss what he has done so he steals one off some innocent persons truck so that person has to foot the bill to replace it…[zb]…needless to say i won’t be stopping there in the future.
