Lockerbie truck stop-BEWARE

To be honest mate that could anywhere you stop, its a secure park because it controls who comes and goes on the site. If another truck driver has decided to nab something off your truck what can they do. They can only watch the perimeter not every single truck in the park.

You should be blaming whoever charged you 130 quid for a top arch was it plated wae gold or something :open_mouth:

Renault prices…i could have had a non original one for £95+vat but it wouldn’t have come until next Wednesday

Going off thread for a second

I got a replica nearside stair for a daf and its ■■■■ , it doesn’t fit properly and the colour isn’t the same its like a duller white :unamused: But my boss said the dealers price was too expensive for an original

that’s nothing, i had one stolen from one of my trucks whilst he was loading at Carlsberg at Swan Valley, the driver had only gone to the toilet for a ■■■■, when he came back, it was missing :unamused:

Lockerbie is still an excellent Truckstop despite the theft above IMHO

I agree…the food is second to none and i used it today for my dinner…but i parked my truck so i could see it…but i would think twice about overnighting there again.
I have heard about non genuine parts not fitting properly…the genuine wing i fitted went straight on and doesn’t look out of place.

Well that’s Northampton for ya!!!

topboy trucker:
Just to let anybody who uses the new Lockerbie truckstop that runs parallel with the M74 to be on there guard as i had 1 of my rear wheel arch tops stolen there on Tues night

You reckon he’ll be back for more?

topboy trucker:
…i thought this was supposed to be a secure park■■?..and to make matters worse, when i went into the cafe the next morning to tell whoever was on about it she just turned away with a smile on her face.

Ring up the Daily Sport and report it !!! A non secure truck park mascarading as a secure one !!

topboy trucker:
It has just cost me £130+vat to replace it :imp: :imp: …just because of some thieving lowlife [zb] who probably damaged the one on his truck and he is not man enough to tell his boss what he has done so he steals one off some innocent persons truck so that person has to foot the bill to replace it…[zb]…needless to say i won’t be stopping there in the future. :smiling_imp:

Yeah i see where your coming from, best not stop near any lorry drivers and be 100% safe.

LMFAO

on a serious note, sorry to hear the bad news, seems to be a growing problem as I have heard similar stories a lot lately. More often it seems to happen in the presence of Eastern European trucks, but I guess not for wing tops… as most don’t have em!!!

Why is it that when anybody posts up a thread to warn other drivers about thefts etc from a particular place do other users just take the p**s…this thread was just to highlight the problem…i know it isnt the end of the world, but any theft regardless of what it is needs sorting out because if the place where it is happening at gets a bad reputation with problem after problem then nobody will want to stay there…and that would be a shame as Lockerbie it is a cracking place and as i said in the 1st post i told the lady who was in charge that particular day and she couldn’t give a toss.

No mark i didn’t buy the volvo as there was a few things wrong with it and the bloke wouldn’t budge on price which was a bit overpriced to start with.

As pointed out by others…

  1. It could happen anywhere where lorries park.

  2. Don’t park near other lorries because a significant proportion of their drivers are thieving scum.

Yes, it does seem like strange behaviour. To many it might seem normal to simply steal something you need! There was a time when such behaviour caused outrage among a close knit group of professionals, but those days seem long past!

Thanks for the warning TT, I’ll bear your warning in mind when I park in a truck stop with other so called “truckers.” And also the cavalier and couldn’t-care-less attitude shown here.

They say there’s no honour amongst thieves, but obviously there’s little self respect amongst professional drivers any more either.

No wonder there’s so much whingin’ and ■■■■■■■’ on here! That’s the easy part of being a professional driver…

With the best will in the world how are you going to stop other drivers nicking stuff off your truck? You aint, that could happen anywhere. To say beware at Lockerbie seems quite daft. Now he has his wheel arch top i doubt he’ll be nicking another one anytime soon?

Just what I was thinking. When I 1st started you couldn’t even leave your lenses on your trailer. :imp:

drill a few holes where they join and use some tie wraps or screw them together with torx screws/nuts and bolts with nylock nuts

Are they using the tokens and barrier at Lockerbie yet?

I’ve been driving long enough to know that it wasn’t always that way. But of course, that may have been before your time.

And long enough to not be in any way phased that you and renaultman seem to think it’s acceptable that truckers steal from others!

Your apparent lack of any sort of conscience about the situation says more about your own professionalism, or lack of it, than anything I could say.
