Jeez!!! He is pretty handy with the blade to get all 3 of them! I don’t know what to think about this. My initial thoughts were, good, serves em right. They’re operating outside the law and the driver must have been ■■■■■■■■ himself.
I know what others are saying about just let them take the truck is the logical way but logic sort of goes out the window when you’re abruptly woken up by 3 thieving scumbags trying to take your ‘home’ from you a long way from your own country!
At the end of the day if they had been good law abiding citizens going to do an honest days work somewhere they’d all be fine now.

An Hungarian driver was parked overnight in Dudley a few year ago and 3 scrotes got into his cab and tried nicking the truck, he fought back with a knife and stabbed all 3 killing one in the process. He was up on a murder charge only for the CPS to throw it out as a case of self defence.
The 3 pondlife were well known to the police for doing this kind of thing, the one who got killed his family were up in arms over the decision. I and I’m guessing most on here were overjoyed by the outcome and one less bit of scum was irradiated from the gene pool.Twas a greek in Coleshill Truck driver who 'stabbed hijacker to death defending lorry' held by police | Daily Mail Online
What was the outcome, one would hope,he was let off and given a medal.
CPS dropped the case against him if I’m not mistaken

A few years ago a trucker was awoken to his trailer being broken into. He stabbed and killed one of the guys. I just did a quick search on Google but couldn’t find it.It’s local to me and from what I remember it was Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. Two or three guys, the one who died was the father of one of the others. The trucker said he had the knife for removing the skin from apples and acted in self defence. I believe he got off. Fair play

Those three will be out now, the Greek driver should have been rewarded

Greek driver deserves a medal IMO. As wagon drivers we are simply going about our business, and the guys who are tramping out should have the full protection of the law. Being in your wagon is no different than being robbed in your house for me, and if you happen to get a blade in your neck or a fire extinguisher mashing your skull, then you should have considered that before you tried to rob a wagon driver.
If people get into my trailer, I will simply drive off with them in it whilst phoning plod. Ideally if you had a box trailer and they had entered through the rear doors, reversing up against a wall or something would be the aim.
But if some [zb] tries entering my cab, I have a fitted (quick release velcro strap) fire extinguisher next to my drivers seat, and a knife in my drivers door pocket for cutting banding etc. I would have no hesitation in making sure I go home to my family.

I think you’ll find most handguns have been illegal for most people in the UK for some time.Farmer Tony Martin went down for shooting someone who had broken into his house…Martin’s gun was unlicensed.
Weapons are generally illegal, even in self-defence. Tools and equipment that you have to hand are not. Easy Start, fire extinguishers, heavy torches, wheelbraces, lengths of chain, hammers etc are all things that a truck driver could legitimately have to hand.
Don’t be tempted into buying one of those combined torch/tazer things…its prison if you are found with one in the UK.
At the end of the day, it’s safer just to let the scrotes go. The average police constable is paid rather more than the average truck driver, and they get better sick pay.
Sounds sensible.
Someone breaking into a trailer is not immediate threat to a driver in his cab. Someone trying to break into the cab is different.
As I understand it, we can all defend ourselves against harm, but can’t use force to protect property.
If I were in that situation I would probably keep quiet and phone the police.
But prevention is best. Secure parking is top of the list.Sent from my GT-S7275R using Tapatalk
Martin is as mad as a bucket of fish, he shot someone for scrumping apples and then shot the gypsy in his back, otherwise he would have got off with it.

Quite right.
They might be robbing your boss or your bosses customer or your boss’s customers insurance company or whatever you feel comfortable with but ultimately, they are robbing from you.

I was in a gang in Central America during the 70s. We all had guns. Rifles, we all had rifles.
And pistols, we had pistols too.
Mines, yes, we also had mines, Claymores, yes Claymores.
Light machine guns, yep, had some of those, General Purpose Machine guns…oh yes, we had 2 of those.
Wait, Artillery. What? Yep, Artillery. Our gang had FH70 105mm light gun. 6 of em. Air portable, on call, artillery support for my gang.
My gang had our own air support too, yes that´s right, we had our own Harriers on call. Yep, Harriers.
No-one [zb] with my gang. We all slept easy. The opposition obviously wasn’t Mexican drug cartels in that case.

Nope, they scared me, I opted out

I see what you did there
Surely the answer is for the TNUK SAS to go out and patrol the truck parks and laybys so we can all sleep easy in our beds instead of them huddling together in the corner of the rdc waiting rooms discussing what the 500 of them that were on The Balcony should have done next.

Obviously the exception that proves the rule in that case.Especially if the Colombian lot decide to join in.

Without US type gun laws combined with their right to use deadly force to protect property it’s a moot point.Although look on the bright side at least it makes the milkman’s and postman’s and election leaflet distributors’ jobs a bit safer.
dyou think one of those long tyre levers would be a no-no to be carried ? im thinking of the sort about 3-4ft long that has a blunt spike at one end and a knuckle at the other . thing is youve precious little time to act if youre set upon so it needs to be a “winner takes all” type of make do weapon. also if you had a sounding device connected to a dash mounted switch that made exact same noise as a gun being fired that could be pressed at will

There was uproar when he was jailed, but released soon after.
“The right idea”?
Shoot a badly hurt man who is retreating away from you? presumably in the back?
I can understand someone having their “blood up” etc, but this guy apparently wandered off to a shed to get more ammo before shooting him dead?
No way am I defending thieves, but FFS, get a sense of proportion about it please.
I must have misread this somewhere…
Maybe you did Franglais.
Story in a nutshell.
Single farmer, living on his own in the West of Ireland.
Rte radio 1 had just done a slot on the news about elderly living in fear of their lives,in rural Ireland.Theft,extortion.
This man was actually interviewed, coincidentally, because his life had been destroyed by thieving low life travellers, who over the period of years preceding this event, had tortured(mentally) this poor bloke. The usual stuff…breaking and entering, harassing.
This time he was in the yard and the son was at the back door, harassing, hasseling him and the poor gent lost it.
There was mass uproar over here, and yes,an argument was used about the reloading. And yes,it maybe a valid one.
But to have seen that man in an interview before where he spoke of his fear, was heartbreaking.
The same mans wife and son, have done time.
The victim had been in and out of jail, multiples of time.80 criminal CONVICTIONS,Franglais.Over 30 years.4 outstanding bench warrants for his arrest!
He won`t bother anyone anymore.
The law was changed soon after,to allow for protection of ones property.
Are drivers going to be under suspicion if they offer “no resistance” as the company actually tells us to do?
…After all, how do these perps know which load to target, and then in-out-wipe before anyone else even knows what is happening?
…Also know which trucks are bereft of camera coverage as well…
Hmm…

There is a lot more in your answer than in the link I can see.
So if this was a case of 'straws and camel’s backs" where the dead man had been systematically abusing the prosecuted man over a period of years etc then I see a difference.
I read the link as it being a single incident. Is it possible I’m reading a shorter version on a mobile site? I’ll look on laptop at the weekend.
Reminiscent of other cases, when years of abuse cause a victim to go over the edge.
