Lincolnshire Road Safety (Christmas party fund)

Ok ajs68 I’ll put it another way, I go along the A52 (in one direction or another) about 12 times a week, I could count on 2 fingers the amount of times I’ve done a 40mph average, I can count on 0 fingers how many tickets I’ve had from the AVERAGE speed cameras.

Flavour of the month and whether they are targetting LGV’s, but they can and do detect LGV’s speeding, but do not action the speeders. At this time you are correct and the system only recognises and records cars, but a Chief Constable like the one Lincs have can decide to lower the threshold or it becomes a priority for the Roads policing units. The system would be overloaded with LGV’s above 40mph on the A52 towards Grantham, but a potential for a few days to earn some income. As i say it is possible with a minor alteration and you would never realise until paperwork landed on your doorstep. I travel the same route and to be sure, stick at 40 on that section. I have worked for them and know how cunning and slippery they can be. It’s entirely your own choice.
An Example,Holdingham VOSA pull in layby, they can detect your weight and speed before you are even pulled in.

Good enough for me, thankyou.

If you don’t get a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days then you may argue against the procedure if one turns up after 14 days. Remember the NIP goes to the registered keeper, so hope its registered to work or the NIP can go round in circles and will be valid.

Just a small point, but the registered keeper doesn’t have to receive the NIP in 14 days; the police just have to post it off in that time. If it arrives late, you must check the postmark.

Correct and that’s why they are Recorded Delivery, well they were from my old department in Boston. But yes, do check the postmark.

I am not aware of any UK police force sending out NIP’s by anything other than 2nd class post, never mind by recorded.

All NIP’s must be sent out FIRST CLASS

This only applies to the first one if it is issued to more than one person (i.e. Lease company, hire company, haulage company and eventually the driver)

You may think it is sent second class because it is less than the cost of a first class stamp, BUT the amount shown on the postmark is the “Franked” postage cost which is less than a normal stamp (47p franked, 60p stamped)

I don’t understand why it’s taking so long to come, it’s one of those ones with no film in, with auto sending (I’m sure it’s hooked up to the Internet).
I think the waiting is the worse bit, I just want to know my fate lol.

Technically, they can summons you from the date of offence for 6 months

If you are sure you were flashed, 95% chance you will get a ticket.

As pointed out in the last post, the police have to notify the registered keeper within 14 days, but that may not be your company.

It is not uncommon for it to take a few months to filter down from Lease companies to Hire Company to YOUR company to eventually you.

I work for Turners mate, it’s well known he buys every unit and leases (charges the depot a weekly fee) it to each site, like I said the man on compliance at our depot say usually Soham contact him withing 7 days to ask who the driver was, he’s never had one take longer than 14 days from the flash, I’m now on day 21, I’m starting to get my hopes up, yet trying to keep grounded as I just know the moment I think I’ve gotten away with it, it’s gonna bite me.

Ah, Burners of Boham.

If you have spoken to the “Registered Keeper” and they have not had the NIP in the 14 days then you may have got away with it - It isn’t a new unit is it? If it is - it can also take time for the DVLA to update the details.

I think but I can’t be 100% sure it was a 13 plate, we’ve only the one 63 plate in our yard and I’m sure I wasn’t in it that day. It was more than likely a 13/62 plate.

I think you might have got away with it and it’s something like my original theory that it was temporarily turned down for some roadworks, or something, and they’ll bin everything after the time the contractors told them they were packed up without looking at them.

Still nothing, think it’s been about 10 weeks now.

You’ve just jinxed it

Looks like you’ve got away with it, learn the lesson, stop tearing about every where.
None of us are Angels (all the time) but if you drive like Mario Andretti every time you get behind the wheel, its gonna Bite you in the A, R, S, E, one day.
