Lincolnshire Road Safety (Christmas party fund)

Ok so this morning I was thinking about myself and not “the children”! I was flashed (not by a fit female!) on the A52 at Barrowby Hill, I was on the cruise at 52.8 and going down hill so was around 56mph.

My question is what’s the damage?
Drivers awareness (maybe not at those speeds, showing total disregard for the speed limit)?
Fixed Penalty 3 points and £100?
Court summons?

For all of you that usually go through there at 56, I wouldn’t from now on.

I don’t know ths road, is it a dc? If it is I’d guess a speed course but you were unlucky to get caught if it was a dc. A sc it could be anything as 50 odd is quite a way above 40.

Have a quick look at this thread, had they been lowered temporarily and not reset. Looks like it’s happened before.

It’s a single mate, the dual part ends about 500 yards back, I would say I’ve been through it before at similar speeds and nothing happened, but that would incriminate me more, so my mate has.

If its the a52 you where on and not the a1 that camera is calibrated to do trucks going over 40, its one of those new camera where you get flashed and ticket arrives next day sort of thing. One on a1 same just past a52 calibrated for trucks going over 50mph

Imagine the usual fine 3 points and £1000 fine. Oh and a driver conduct hearing but thats just a formality you just shoot the ■■■■ for an hour, eat biscuits crack on drive.

I’ve never slowed for that camera on A1 and never been done yet

No I’ve never slowed down for that one neither if it was set for 50 it would do most of the trucks on the road one serious money maker

JCB for hire, £50 per hour… any job considered…

You’ve been lucky in the past then. It’s a very sensitive camera and I make sure I’m bang on 40 when passing it (all bets are off coming the other way though so I can get up the hill!)

When I worked on recovery in Grantham I drove a ten tonner that had been downrated to 7.5 and it used to flash me umpteen times a day as I passed at 50.

its 40mph, its well known locally with lorry drivers,

i had a car overtake me past it once, and trying to prove it was very hard, but eventuality the lincs safety partnership gave in when they measured the gap between the lines in the two photos

Paying someone to set fire to the camera doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.

£1000? :open_mouth:

Really?

There is camera watching that camera and its one of those that’s transmits the data as soon as its triggered.

I don’t have a problem with cameras, and if I’ve been speeding and get caught then hands up, my fault, no excuses. But I do have a problem with them being so difficult when you query it when its easy to check by using the lines on the road. Also having been caught recently in my car, I feel they should send a copy of the photograph as a matter of course.

I never said it wasn’t my fault, or my own stupidity, I just wondered what the punishment usually is for 56 in a 40, as it’s obviously a big % over 40, I have a feeling it will be a summons but someone at work says he got a speed awareness course for the same speed, not sure if I belive him though.

I’m not looking for sympathy just an answer to a question.

Thanks

George Orwell’s-Nineteen Eighty-Four
(Written in 1949, he saw it coming.)

“Nineteen Eighty-Four is a dystopian novel by George Orwell published in 1949. The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the Superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance, and public mind control, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism”

I got done for doing 42 in a 30 limit (in my car) 4 years ago & it was an automatic £60 + 3 points, if I’d been doing 39 they would have offered me ‘Speed School’
56 in an Artic on a s/c :unamused: put a couple of magazines down your trousers, co’s its gonna sting when you go to see the headmaster.
