LGV licence free off the tax payers?

war1974:
I can see a bit of both sides here, I agree in the main with what the OP is trying to say. I get in recruitment loads of people who ‘want’ jobs but despite no skills experience or qualifications wont do anything you offer them, then you get the others who will sweep floors etc. to earn a crust.

we get or use to a lot of can you not pay for this? - no is the main answer as I agree that if you want something bad enough then go out and earn and save for said course ( I have paid for my class 1, university etc. so why should someone get it for free irrespective of how much they cost taxpayers?). I have no issue with someone being given a helping hand onto the work ladder if they need it but too many people wont work and save for what they want to progress in a company or role. if you want to be a fork lift driver go work in a warehouse get some ££ and experience prove yourself and they may even offer to pay for it, or do the easy option go to the dole moan and groan and get it for ‘free’'.

but whilst people think its acceptable to give any long term unemployed person training etc. nothing will change and there are plenty of jobs out there if your willing to work.

Not having a go at you as such

But my x Mother in law ( dragon ) offered to pay for her grandson FLT course as he did some work in a wear house though he would like to do this further as was only for the christmas but the dole would not sanction this as he would be unavailable for work for 3 days so he would not be paid ( he was under 19 at the time ) you had to be 19 to do FLT course
