Left hooked

I’ve just watched a left ■■■■■■ spend 15min trying to get on a bay on his good side how the chuff do they get their licence. The yards almost Mt and you could put 3 trailers end to end in front of the bay and still have room to spend
Ps yes I did try to help him but he just couldn’t get the hang of that thing he has to turn :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Ooh my bad he’s still trying so that’s 33mins and still counting

And the keys are out… That’s 42min :unamused:

My guess you need approx the same amount of time a for newbie after passing the uk test

Didn’t get all this excitement at Hovis did you ? I used to love watching them at my old place as they would all try and get on bays next to each other at the same time and just get in each others way and carnage would ensue.

I witnessed a similar thing in France last Monday.

A Waberers driver trying to park up for the night.

Later that evening i got talking to him & it turns out he’d only passed his driving test the week before & been flown out to France to recover the truck…

We’ve all got to start somewhere…

We have about 4 motors a day in our place from a well known haulier beginning with a “K” and ending in “oops” (often does as it happens). I reckon that they only double man as one is in charge of going forwards and the other going backwards. It’s no problem when backwards man is on duty as it’s usually first time onto bay with no shunts, heaven forbid forward guy has a go though as it can take up to 30 minutes.

That was me 2 weeks ago at bidvest foods in Banbury after only just passing it was a challenge to say the least I can now say I’m much better at it… The only way to learn is to get stuck in

How true it is I don’t know but according to an old driving instructor who got me through class 2 (he works for a company that employs nearly all polish) he said they basically pass their test in a car and trailer and that gives them class 1, he also said he gets alot coming wanting a job and some training, got the license but never driven an artic

I bet you just loved that, as it looks very similar to the one in Reading, where all the drivers are sat facing each other…
That was my first day in an artic and took me 2 shunts, I was chuffed to bits! And then they changed my bay
The next one took me 4 shunts…

Maybe being a left ■■■■■■ he is more accomplished with the blind sides

Credit to you for trying to give him a hand, always pleasing to see how drivers can help each other out regardless of what we might be thinking inside. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and assume his problems were noob issues rather than a continental left hookie licence.

You beat me to it, it would have took 1 minute to ask if he needed help, advice or guidance.
Instead let’s just watch a driver struggle,
Unbelievable

Milton Keynes BB. Nothing on 3 bays either side or in front.
The other week I stopped a driver trying to push his air deflector off with the trailer not once but 4th times… . I gave up after and just let him rip it off that was Bristol :unamused:

Used to see a lot of that too, one would stand at the rear waving his arms frantically as if he was trying to take off whilst it would take an age for the inexperienced driver to back on, also I reckon they shared one hi vis as the driver would be wearing it and the banksman wouldn’t have one on so you’d motion to him to put one on then he’d get the hi vis the driver was wearing.

I don’t recall the bay numbers mate, I think I was busy trying to resist the urge of punching the guy.
(Only kidding…)
I only ever went there once (thank God) and it was the bays the far side of the entrance.
Think it was the second one along to start with, and then the next after that…

The dreaded bay 2… Doddle to blind in if nothing on 3 bit harder but do’able if 3 is taken and nobody has been dumb enough to park bang opposite either of them. Gotta say though, it’s an easy bay at night as there’s only a few trailers on the bay and nowt in the way on the fence but follow the seal line in the concrete and it puts you bang on line! As for punching him, most of them in the window are cabbages and don’t know their arse from their armpit!
