Leccy trucks coming thick & fast

Renaults new flagship truck E-tech T780 has just made its debut with a guaranteed range of 600kms. World premiere: Renault Trucks unveils E-Tech T 780 with a range of 600 km - electrive.com

Ford is finally throwing it’s hat into the ring with the F-Line E coming in 2026, It’ll be made in Turkey.

That Renault does suprise me as we were meant to be going 100% Renault in 2026 , suprised they’ve picked merc over the Renault , though as far be said before there’s a Volvo fh demo in the yard at present

That Ford looks awfull

Yeah, agreed. When Ford Turkey showed their Otosan heavy-duty truck design a few years ago, I expected something better.

Seems to me that a lot of the ascetic criticism of electric trucks is because of the lack of a front grill?
The Leyland T45 came in for similar brickbats when it was introduced. Painted tin instead of a black or silver grille.

Daresay someone could put an image of an electric truck with a black grille or a chrome one?

I thought you liked Ford’s

If you mean me md , yes I do like fords , we’ve 2 in the house at present , but that electric truck is ugly

Says it all , electric one looks like someone has chucked a bit of painted mdf on the electric one

Yep. Paint the front panel black with a grille in front and it would look “normal”.
Give it a few years and black grills will look old fashioned and ugly to the newer generation. They will be used to painted “MDF” panels!

Electric cars often have smaller or no front grills because they lack an internal combustion engine that requires extensive cooling. The absence of a large, open grille improves aerodynamics, which is crucial for maximizing the range of EVs. While some EVs have a fake grille for design, others use active shutters or rely on vents elsewhere for the cooling of components like the battery and electric motor.

Which is all ok but it’s not me you have to convince , it’s the wife you have to convince , she’d buy the blue one but she’d not be seen dead in the white one , and to be honest I’d not buy the white one either , those grills might serve a purpose , but style is not one of those

And I do like my fords

I could live with this grill , just a bit of effort is all that’s needed

Actually I do like those mustang Mach e ,s

All them look ■■■■, even that Mustang! Lol

Most electric cars look stupid with there huge front grille. Maybe need it for cooling the battery? But they make the cars look hideous

I see they are digging up half of Poplars and reduced the truck park at Exeter msa to name 2 to install these charge point abortions.

As for the electric cars, I think I have made my personal position clear, so I won’t bore you.….

I get it that some think they are the best thing since Hovis bought a slicer, and good on em each to his own etc etc….but way I see it if they were SO good and such a ‘‘revolutionary improvement’’ they would ‘‘sell themselves’‘ in droves, with zero need for an incentive or interference by government legislation.

Said incentives and allowances are short term, they will disappear in favour of taxes as soon as they get a hold…..nailed on, by that time those who didn’t want them will be stuck with them forcibly with no choice as ‘‘proper cars’‘ will be taxed off the market.
