(removed)… Mike has probably done more miles in reverse than you and all the rest of the jobsworth going forward ! He and the rest of the diary posters on this site are aware of the dangers while being in control of HGV’S and im sure dont need reminding by (zb) like yourself…

Excellent well done, famtastic imge you portray of the “professional driver” :unamused:

At least you managed an ad hominem insult.

paul@midway:
You are clearly going to acheive nothing from keeping this going.
So grow up , stop crying about it like a child and move on .

I hoped to achieve that someone may acknowledge that driving and using a camera / phone is dangerous and downright illegal.

As for “grow up stop crying about it llike a child” I have managed to remain composed, observational and not throw ad hominem retorts at people about it.

Kenny1975:
unless you have 100% prove someone is doing something illegal maybe slanderous to accuse people of doing it.

For your information Ken, Slander refers to verbal ie spoken statements. You’re thinking of Libel, which refers to written words or images, (see Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slander)

Civil litigation by the way is based on the balance of probability, ie does the court think he did it against Criminal Law which is proof beyond all reasonable doubt.

Anyhow nice to see the ranks are closing and the ad hominem retorts are flying in thick and fast, excellent image you’ve portrayed of the “professional driver”

hi bob , alright mate , ignore mike-c , think hes getting his ady,s mixed up, drinking and kebcrawling, happily married with 5 kids mate, with all them kids and mortage cant afford to live never mind drink .

Please don’t anybody mention my videos as it will get me hung drawn and quartered when conclusions are jumped to. That would be despite using one of these

b-hague.co.uk/camera_suction … mounts.htm

and a remote cable which causes no more effort or distraction than operating the windscreen wipers or the indicators.

I’d love to meet one of these drivers who maintain 100% concentration on driving 100% of the time, what is the secret? :unamused: :unamused:

Brilliant Mike, fantastic post as usual, the scouse humour shine’s through alright!!

My old man is fantastic when he’s driving,he can roll a cigarette, pour a cup of tea from his flask and still drive,i also eat and drink whilst drive and i’d reason 90% of drivers do on here.
So lighten up some of you, christ this site is becoming as miserable and serious as some of the other truck site’s on the internet.

Slander, libel, i ain’t a lawyer, think you knew from your reply what i was talking about anyway, good ballance of probability you did

Balance of probability, is there any mention how or when the pictures were taken, or even if Mike even took the pictures at all, maybe he borrowed them off someone else, its just all speculation. Enough to get called a moron and dangerous by someone without any of the facts.

Again i ain’t a lawyer so just an assumption, but being accussed of dangerous driving, isn’t that a matter of criminal law, so for Mike to be guilty of dangerous driving it would have to be proved without a doubt which it clearly isn’t.

Really enjoying these posts on HATOnet. I’m just a bit worried that I may be a fallible human being as opposed to the infallible blame merchants now cruising these pages.

Yeah think you have to be careful sometimes what you say or your ship will strike the ‘moral’ iceberg and start to take on water with some people helping you bail out and some pouring water back onto the ship. …tin hat :exclamation: :exclamation:  you need a buoyant flack jacket as well some times :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :exclamation: :exclamation: :unamused:  :stuck_out_tongue:

But hey ho - life’s full of challenges…certainly been proven that for every action there is a reaction

“wait up mate, I’m just putting my tin hat on…” :stuck_out_tongue:  :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

You beat me to that mate, I was thinking the same about the amount of HATOs on here now.

As a job I’m sure they have to put up with a lot of grief from motorists and traumatic scenes that I personally would not want to come face to face with.

There are bad apples amongst the truck driving community that bring down the profession that otherwise is a credit to the nation, but let’s not forget that everybody is prone to lapses of concentration. Therefore by pontificating from a perceived higher level is just setting the HATO members on here up for a very big fall the first time one of their 4x4’s is seen with a bent front bumper

P.S. Geat diary again MIke, don’t be put off posting more!

Great diary again Mike, keep em coming.

what a strange post , not sure if robs backing mike or against him

After all this holier than thou rollocks from Biffo, ( iirc a stupid bear like character from the beano) I wasn’t too impressed by the driving of a member of the HATO brigade last year.

On the M6 bbetween 32 and Forton services I was sat on the CC doing 56 MPH when this womblemobile overtook me, no problem, then he slowed down. So not wanting to lose any momentum as the traffic was fairley light for that stretch I looked in mirror, indicated and and pulled out to overtake him.

I pulled in safely after looking in my mirror to see if my trailer had passed him, 30 seconds later the wommble was coming along side me to vertake again, he passed and pulled in front of me again then slowed again.

Again not wanting to lose momentum as I was fully freighted I performed the above manoevre, after pulling in again I looked in my offside mirror to see the aforementioned womble overtaking me again, after he had passed me for the 3rd time we were at the services where he promptly pulled on to the slip road to go and sit in the car park and practice his arm folding techniques I presume.

Now I was led to believe that these so called guardians of our motorways were trained to advanced level, or was he just playing with me, if I wasn’t on a tight deadline I would have pulled into the services and would have asked him.

The problem I would have had with that is as soon as I had made a complaint to the womble he would have called for police back up and I would probably have been charged with breach of the peace.

The plastic plod are watching you Dont even think of breaking wind while driving.
God only knows what you’ll be respnsible for.
