Not sure about space, the engine hump must be level with the dashboard.

But the engine jump will be under the bed. Between the seats the floor can be flat

like this.

See that’s lot more space than a standard low roof car transporter. That hump can probably be pushed further back too when specced as a sleeper but even if it can’t there’s still a lot more room than usual with the bonus that most people can stand up in there. As for crash safety well Scania take that issue incredibly seriously so I’d give them the benifit of the doubt until we see how it performs

It’s not designed to replace the big cabbed trucks; it’s designed to replace the smaller, mostly rigid, trucks on urban deliveries. It is also very unlikely to be hauling up to 44t as the most powerful option is 360bhp.
The floor height is 930mm (about 3ft,) there is an option where it drops to 800mm when the park brake is applied to lower the access height, a 2007 Volvo FM had a floor height of 1175mm, (about 3ft 10) and it probably isn’t much different in height to the trucks some of you go all gooey about from the 60’s and 70’s
It has passed the crash testing requirements, and if there is one thing in common with Swedish vehicle manufactures, it’s an obsession about safety.
It seems modern trucks are designed to break off their cab mountings to allow the cab to move back instead of having a crumble zones at the front. Just look at a lot of the pictures of trucks that have rear ended trailers.

We’re talking about cab floor height and seat mounting height relative to the load deck level of the truck it runs into, not overall height of the cab.So how does the cab shear from the chassis and supposedly move back when the impact height level has been moved downwards from around cab floor and driver’s lower leg height level to the windscreen and driver’s torso height level. :unamused:

Your right, Defo a lot more space than a standard low roof.
Guess it would have a fold down bunk.

Edit to add I should have said cab floor height has been moved downwards and impact point correspondingly upward. The only thing that’s going to shear and move back in that case in the A pillars and then the top half of the cab and with it the top half of the driver’s body.Leaving the bottom half of the cab and the seat base and with it lower half of the driver’s body wedged under the load deck of the truck it’s rear ended. All very eco though. :unamused:

Nope, I’ve just isn’t that in 20 years of driving for a living how vehicles look on the outside bears no relation to how the truck is to drive or running costs and that as a driver I’d rather have a spacious interior and ugly exterior than vice versa

It’s clear that this dangerous mickey mouse heap is no more spacious than anything else. It’s just that it’s cab floor height has been brought down to a much lower level relative to the ground. :unamused:

How so ?They(Vag) ■■■■■■■■■■■ up mpg figures On everything ,They lied about emissions ,And have been caught out …

In this video above they are talking about the same things as they did selling cars all over the world for which they are being sued and fined millions for .I wonder if anyone’s actually checked Truck emissions against what they boast about? They make smart stuff but they have been pulling the wool over Joe public’s eyes for years …
Has anyone got links to the crash testing of these particular trucks ? I really want to see them crash test this in a few diferent scenarios …

P.s I’m not trying to ■■■ ■■■ your thread or become an enemy .They lie !They are now renowned for lying  .
That will take a seriously long time to put right .They are controlled by VAG.Everything goes through the parent con-pany .

The culture within Scania will be very much exclusively Scania at this point. Over the coming years as they integrate into parent company more it will be diluted and will contain more of VWs culture, that much is certain. But hopefully they won’t lose what made Scania what it us.

Most companies lie from time to time thru cab get away with it. Just look at the price fixing scandal truck manufacturers were in
