it is Barry. It’s gradually slipping away from the quite accurate depiction of an interim-liveried Riding Atkinson it once was.

Seen at Llandudno last weekend-

Yes it is ex Suttons, now owned by Ronny Rich of Longridge (ex Riding driver).

I noted it had a St. Helens plate and the same thought about Suttons struck me,but the headboard didn’t have that little extra pip above the normal headboard so I thought nah! must be just coincidence the St,Helens no plate  Cheers Bewick.

Legend had it that it was to be restored into Suttons livery, but there was a ‘difference of opinion’ between Suttons & Seddon-Atkinson. What you see now was the compromised outcome…

It used to have “the knob”, Dennis, but it was cut off during the restoration. It had a brand new cab built for it at the time, but the original roof was re-used. I do have a photo I took of it in Coote Lane Garage, prior to the ‘Bobbit’ treatment

Been out driving again This time I thought I would show Pete 359 one of our 2 bonneted trucks, I know he likes them but I must say on the open road they are OK but going through Adelaide with a B Double behind they are harder work than a cabover as you soon 'loose ’ idiots in cars in front of you, and also that bit longer turning circle just make life a bit more awkward.

BIBS:
Hi Lance who’s organising Sunday might get the Seddon out

Hi “BIBS” ,
It`s being organized by Keith Baron.
It commemorates the 20 years since the Shap Fell Memorial Stone was unveiled at the summit.

The procession starts from the B.C.V.M. , and there is a “Pit Stop” at Truckhaven , Carnforth about 11. 00. Then it resumes , and follows the A 6 , ( except the chuffin road works on the southern end of the Kendal by-pass :frowning: ) . continues up A 6 to the Summit.
I think there`s also a continuation to Shap Village Hall , to view old photographs , etc.,… of the A 6 . Check with the B.C.V.M.

The event was to have been last Sunday , but was re-arranged due to the Transport Show held at the B.C.V.M.

Hope this is of some help to anyone interested.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Thanks Roy

520 cuddles up to 660 !!!

I took these photo’s today so that you can see how an “A” trailer works. If the trailer is loaded, the box MUST be in the rear position before it can be dropped or there is a very good chance of it tipping over .

On a bright and sunny Sunday morning,…Lance and his co-pilot “■■■■■■■■■■ John” ride into
Truckhaven , Carnforth, for a pint pot ( of tea :unamused: :sunglasses:    :exclamation: ).

A participant of the Leyland - to - Shap Fell summit convoy.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.
