That bloke used to only run Volvos IIRC,obviously he has seen some sense only if it’s running an old knacker Scania,I wonder what reg it is,I’d soon tell you wether it was an ex Bewick or a WRM ! Cheers Bewick.

Hi all ,
The Scania artic belongs to sheep dealer Philip Wilson. The previous unit was a grey Scania , but mebbe he wanted to retain the
WRM livery on this one . :unamused: .
Hes had a few motors over many years , - including ( a T suffix ) E.R.F. 8 wheeler , and an Atkinson 6 wheeler , Gardner 180 power , all with maximum length ( 30 ) 3 deck bodies fitted. An even earlier 1969 Ford D1000 6 wheeler had a high container , but I dont know what engine was fitted . Philip bought a (mouth organ cab ) Leyland Steer from Appleby-based Alderson & Huddart in the early/mid 1960s.
I think the Ford D1000 replaced the Leyland when the Testing & Plating regulations came into force.

The Volvo F 86 you mention ,was owned by another farmer/dealer who lived about a mile away.

I hope I have filled the missing links .

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Roy this looks like a ex Aurther Pooley trailer

Hi Lance ,
If my memory serves me right , that 42 body was new to Philip , in early 1991 . (I can remember seeing its construction when I was at Houghtons one day).
The 3 rd. deck was of the (former) open top hinged type. It was altered in 1993/4 , when the new livestock carriage regulations
came into force.
Container is same colour as Arthur Pooleys , but unsure about the semi-trailers history , though.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

A few pics from Riverside today of wagons that caught my eye. Sadly no Big Js with 8 potters in

A few more on the way home

On the Face book page of the steel boys, somebody called Scott Whitehouse posted a photo of L1LBH when it was at Tip Con when it was new, I found a few more so I thought you may like them on here, and a couple of others.
