Hi Lance ,
Having just seen the photographs of the alterations done to the Scania in the name of Ray Witts , Chorley , that name
rings a bell from years ago.

About 8 to 9 (maybe more) years ago there was a E.R.F. 4 wheeled rigid at one of the B.C.V.M. gatherings. I am sure it was the same colour as the Ray Witts Scania , and from the Coppull/Wigan area. The E.R.F. had just been restored , and the cab`s previous colour had
been grey. The reg. no. was OJM 853 L. I have misplaced the photos I took on that day.

I can remember its first owner being Peter Farrell , Kirkby Thore , and the E.R.F. was always kept immaculately clean .
This photograph shows the second owner as being L.F. Nicholson , who now trades under the partnership of Nicholson & Holdsworth, Appleby.
Please can you confirm if the E.R.F. is still owned by Ray Witts , or as to its current whereabouts.

Thanks , and cheers , cattle wagon man.

Roy going back to Ray Witts this week to pick up another SCANIA 113 for adjustment The ERF is round the back in a very sad state I will try and get some pic and post them for you to see with a lot of TLC and a good man it could be hauling cattle again

I see you and eddies number 1 drive have it all weighted up

I remember seeing your 143s in Dublin during the 90s, always stood out- no wind kits and bulk trailers.
A touch of class about them
Cheers
John

YEP !!!

Hi Lance ,
Thanks for the update of the E.R.F. , reg. no. OJM 853 L.
It is a shame that the E.R.F. has since been allowed to fall into a sad state. :frowning:
It looked so good at the B.C.V.M. rally , and it was a pleasant surprise to see it again.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

Here are a few pictures of one of my heroes in bulk transport Oliver Hart.

hi lance,
i remember the home made motors of olly. hart, regulars in south wales back loading coal and coke.no spare wheel and only 1 seat in the cab, they say that mr.hart was fanatical about the tare weight of his fleet ? is that right or just another driver’s tale?
regards andrew.

Here are a few more the trailer on the f86 was bought by blackshadow’s dad Gordon (Jesus) Bagot.

[/quote hi lance like the old Olive hart pics , when did they pack up I can just remember them on the road]

I see my mate called round to see you, with the photos, Did he leave you a disc of them as he said he would do. I thought you would love them.

That trailer which was a Neville, and was run behind a 2 pedal Leyland Beaver( TWU 790 F) that Dad bought off Jim Bowskill from Carnforth. It was always used with a donkey engine mounted on the front, at first it had a Briggs and Stratton petrol engine and when that blew up it was replaced with a Lister diesel engine. Later on in it’s life it was fitted with barn doors instead of a tailboard as Dad carted a lot of scrap in those days.

The entire fleet

The mak 2 atki reg number ote765k is the one that the mad monk went over the railway bridge at lancliff in. Myers bought it and rebuilt it.
Do you recognise the man in front of it lance?
