Lady Truck Drivers UK

Of course, well I saw the funny side to your posts anyway. It would be a sad place without a sence of humour.

On a different note, I hope your wife is ok & that she has a speedy recovery.

Thankyou kate123. Its nice to know that they is still some people out there that like a laugh  my wife is a very ill lady but she is made of strong stuff and she is a fighter

I had a laugh at it as well did see the funny side but then I do have a strange sence of humour

Hope you wife is ok if she can keep smiling it may help ease the pain a bit

Thanks to all who have wished my wife well. She has had her op and is back on the ward and they are pleased with her. And she is back having a laugh with the docters and nurses

Good to hear she’s doing ok and the op went well.

Sorry to hear your wife is ill, hope she gets better soon. Liz

Thankyou liz. She discharged herself because they would not let her have a cup of tea  i told you she was strong

I have to admit something here. The fact of the matter is that men have different ways of interacting amongst themselves than women, and the banter is their way of accepting people. I’ve always been far more worried when people don’t take the ■■■■ out of me than when they do. I also prefer that kind of atmosphere to the very bitchy and underhanded/hidden agenda/constant one-up-manship thing that you often see amongst female workers when they get together. Women are horrible creatures really - myself included.

In other words, you carry on Mrknowitall, and give your lass my best.

Thanks lucy. I have worked with women so i know what ur saying  my wife prefers to work with men for the same reasons you have mentioned  take care.

Mrknowitall:
Are you saying that some of you have got a sense of humour  As i need cheering up im at the hospital at mo waiting for my wife to come back from an op

A proper Mr Knowitall would have already given her the car keys so you can enjoy a celebratory beer or ten when she’s on her way home and for her to shop un-hindered on the way back with your supper makings.

Well happy keith when my wife write her last car off i gave her 1 of my cars  but as she is on morphine for severe pain and it makes her as high as a kite she cannot drive it

Well, I did see this one somewhere:

Mrknowitall:
‘…Are you saying that some of you have got a sense of humour  As i need cheering up…’

In reality, I’m a driver, not a magician.

Back to the subject of this thread, I would like to say how happy I will be to meet any drivers, male or female and their families at Peak Truck show this coming weekend. Unbelievable that in this day and age people, especially women, would start a club with that sort of title. That is not doing drivers who happen to be female any favours at all

Why do you want a female as I have had several men show me what it is like

if theres a female truck driver out there who is willing to show some one what its like to drive a big rig let me now please

Well I was an LGV instructor for over 20 years and have done that many times.

Its not compulsory to join and as so many ladies have joined - and not been slated for it - I cant see its a problem. Some people enjoy ‘belonging’ and others dont - it’s a free country. It is obviously a subject of interest otherwise this thread would not be running!
The club has been very popular and more girls are joining all the time - maybe its because the club offers so many benefits - and also the media heard about it and spent the last two weeks filming the members ‘at work and at leisure’ which the members greatly enjoyed - but before anyone jumps in with any negative remarks - no its NOT compulsory to view if/when the programme is shown. :unamused:

As Mothertrucker says, you do not have to watch the programme when or if it is broadcast, but maybe some of the members here who are against clubs for woman, just want to give negative comments just for the hell of it. :frowning:
Scotland Truckfest here we come and for those who want to visit our stand it is S31. Come along for a chat and sign our visitors book. EVERYONE is very welcome and tea/coffee and cake to celebrate my birthday. Members merchandise available too.
