Just want to say thanks to all the people from Trucknet and Facebook who came to visit our club stand at Peterborough. It was great to chat over a cuppa and for you to sign our visitors book. From starting wth 3 members last year, we now have 70 members and more clubs from overseas are keeping in touch with us about their clubs. Look forward to the next Truckfest at Shepton. Liz
Lady Truck Drivers UK is a club started up by two ladies who have worked and still work in the haulage industry. The first meeting of the club will take place at Truckfest, Peterborough with a BBQ, held on the stand for members on Sunday 1st May at 4-00 p.m Any lady truck drivers wishing to join our club, please come along and speak to either Elizabeth Waters (Club Secretary) or Wendy Priestley (Magazine Editor). Merchandise will be available with discounts for members. Look forward to seeing friends old and new.
Nice to hear, you may encourage more Women to consider a job in trucking as well which can only be a good thing and may improve the facilities for everyone.
my wife dosn’t have an hgv licence, but i let her drive mine with her ■■■■out once.
does that count?

Shame that you feel the need to start your own ‘club’ just for women!
Didn’t you have the racism and inclusiveness training modules at your place.
Integrate… don’t be sectarian.
I’m in!
They’re definitely gonna need a bigger bbq!
You look quite a hungry lady 44 tonne ton

Just looks at some of the posts made on this thread, the same question about the modules of some of the men here. I was talking on the phone to a fellow about a truck I bought making arrangements to pick it up. The guy says well when your husband gets home have him call. I told him I was buying the truck and going to be driving it. SILENCE then he says oh I guess women can drive too.
So just how welcome would women be in with the men ? Yes we do the same job but there are a large number of men yet in the industry that seem to have some difficulty with that. There is only one thing a man can do that a woman cant and for that we have clinics now.
How can a clinic get rid of a spider?
Oh. I see. But it was probably a bloke who came and supplied the clinic.
As expected, I totally agree with Lucy.
I’m a lorry driver, not a lady trucker.
I didn’t want to be involved with the original Lady Truckers Club 30 years ago started by Illona ( Richards?)and my views haven’t changed after working alonside blokes since then, but all the best to those who see themselves as ‘different’

Now that’s funny.
Apart from peeing in a lay-by I don’t see why more women aren’t drivers. Maybe it’s because of what men have told them 6" is!

you would be very welcome with the lads.
you need to have a good sense of humour, and not be easily offended.
my wife often tells me to start off slowly when we go out to a party with her teaching colleages.
this is just in case there is a new victim.
those who are most offended by me, are the first to ask if i’m going to the next party.
if you can’t have a laugh, what’s the point of life.
if i was ugly, i would make a joke of it. but i’m not ugly, and i have a fat ■■■■.

As I understand the original is still going & still run by Deaneka
Surely there isn’t scope for two of them
