Hi Steve,
I’ve heard about the signature thing from other people too, so you’re not on your own.
My signature did appear on my original card, but it was very very small.
Just for info, I got my card in December 2012 but IIRC the very first of the ADR cards dates back as far as October 2012, so the sheer numbers involved is probably the reason why some corrected cards will arrive much later than others.
If there’s a problem with your signature at SQA’s end, they’ll let you know and advise you what (if anything) needs to be done about it.
A lot of helpful information.
Thank you
Ref: Signature box being blank.
Apparently the SQA scanning form & equipment had a problem ‘reading’ applicant’s signature if it was filled in on the form using standard black biro.
Our ADR instructor passed round a ‘special’ thick rollerball pen for us to sign the forms with & my signature came out ok on my card. I don’t know if this issue has been resolved on the new cards? But unless you fill in another form, probably not.
As for size of signature on the card…I suppose it depends on how much your signature fills the scanning form box??
BTW I got my letter the other day explaining on-going updates to ADR card as mentioned earlier it this thread.

Hi Daz1970,
Yes, you’re spot-on mate.
There have been some issues with the thickness of the writing and blank signatures etc, even though a black biro was correctly used.
To be fair though, some people seem to think they can sign anywhere within the four heavy printed squares, but the instruction underneath is pretty clear that the signature must fit within the corner markers. It’s no big deal, cos the instructor should just give the person a new form to fill in if there are any mistakes on it.
The part in the pic below is at the bottom right of the scanning form:
ive got my new card… woop da woop
The German ADR card is also not entirely correct.
More cards from other countries with errors found here http://www.unece.org/trans/danger/publi/adr/adr_certificates.html.html
To dieseldave (or anyone concerned): Have people been issued with replacement ADR licence cards (version2) yet…I got my letter a good few weeks back, saying it was on the way - since then, nothing■■?

Hi Daz1970,
Yes mate, the new cards have been issued, and they’re working on the backlog.
I’d say that you should have had your card by now, so my suggestion is that you contact your original ADR provider because they can chase it up for you.
Thanks Dave…I will chase it up!!!
Old cards have VALID TO missing from them, apparently this was causing a few admin errors throughout the european union

‘Valid to’ is item #8 on the old cards.
Mine arrived eventually, 4 weeks after my colleague, who was on the same course as me. Mind you, my original (wrong!) one turned up 3 weeks before his, which started him worrying that he’d failed!

Hi Berkshireblue,
That sort of thing has become par for the course (no pun intended!!) just lately.
SQA have variously mixed up people’s piccys, whilst at other times they say that they’ve not been able to scan the signatures.
You mate could rest easy though, because a phone call to the provider will get the answer as to whether he’d passed, but I’d leave a phone call for at least three weeks because of the marking process.
Card arrived this week…
Just checked it and all present and correct!! Well chuffed!!
Really cant thank you enough Dave for helping us thru it
