I go out on my bike every weekend, just to keep fit. My problem is eating properly, I like to have one ‘proper’ meal a day, not an ‘all day breakfast’ but a dinner with veg, when I’m away. Trouble is, how easy is it to go into a Maccy D’s
lol, i dont touch maccy d’s or owt like that, i try and eat sensibly in the cab, my problem is i make sandwichs out of everything! about to have a pot noodle - this will be accompanied by at least three slices of bread and butter
Since I was made redundant just after Christmas, I’ve been walking 6 miles a day. Lost over four stone now. TBH truck driving isn’t a healthy profession and I don’t miss it.
Although I don’t drive a truck, I do drive a desk 5 days a week. Same issues, too much food and not enough exercise. Started cycling once or twice a week to work, go for a swim at least once a week, always take the stairs and reduced the amount of beer. One thing that has really helped is controlling the portions. Instead of a plate full, make everything just a little smaller. I’ve now lost a stone since Christmas and like others have said, feel better for it.
cheers
Paul

Why do none of us know a former moose who’s now so fit we keep walking into desks/parked cars etc whilst looking at her walking around the office?

If you’ve been walking 6 miles a day it’s no wonder you’ve lost over 4 stone, you house must be miles away by now!

Two Airedale Terriers help me stay trim, also having no bread, biscuits and beer except from the pub has helped lose two stones since January.
Your very lucky having’ two’ Airedales they need a lot of exercise, I used to have Parsons Jack Russells , I don’t have a dog now & haven’t had for a number of years now I used to spend loads of time with them out across the fields my working life style sadly won’t allow for another dog, although I would love to have another

Buy a skipping rope,15 minutes a day will keep ya trim. Helps keep me under 13stone.
Yep try that I used to box and we’d train wearing a bin liner the sweat would poor off you and at first you felt like your going to be sick or collapse a couple off weeks later your bodies used to it and your stamina will be second to none I also run only 3 miles 3 times a week wearing a bin bag and a hoodie try it it works but do it at night so you look less off a [zb] running down the road looking like a wheelie bin
Top man in our garage was a boxer,it was him that got me into skipping. He says the same as the bin bag lol. maybe just wear a bin bag in the cab with the heater on full.
I only eat when im hungry and don’t eat much rubbish at all, take multi vit and cod liver oil every day. Also had no booze since Christmas and feel much better for it.
Your doing well then I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit since Christmas I blame the weather lol the bin bag has to come out a bit more often now summers on the way I like your idea thou I’m gonna try it I’m all for cutting corners when it suites

Work as a removal man (see the thread about this)!
You end up with biceps like grapefruit, with a little bruise on each that women like to kiss!
Isn’t muscle building and general fitness totally different? Might be wrong
correct, you could have someone with a perfect body on the front of a magazine that couldn’t keep up with chris moyles running for 10 minutes, never mind the next hour he’d carry on for.
also cardio burns up muscle so some fitness models types will avoid cardio so they don’t go 2 steps forward, 1 step back on the weights front
