If you look , expand the pic you’ll see the doors are down , he didn’t loose the -21, +12, just the +3 , maybe the straps weren’t what they should of been, only a guess as I wasn’t there, oh hang on a know a bit more than someone who wasn’t present should do
Evil8Beezle:
I can’t see from the pic whether the trailer has a tail lift or not. So can’t be certain it’s backing onto a bay or not…
The yellow line that the truck is lined up with means it will have been it was using a loading bay, whether there was a tail lift on the trailer or not.
I think it’s most likely that he has pulled off the bay and not secured the cages for the remaining deliveries.
Quite possibly, but not a certainty…
However it does absolve the driver from blame, as I would assume the loading/unloading staff should have been responsible for ensuring the cages were re-secured.
You’re not the driver are you?
No not me evil, but on store deliveries for stobarts the driver unloads the trailer to the back of the trailer, then the warehouse staff take it from there, wether it be a dock or a scissor lift or tail lift the driver is in back of trailer, so his responsibility to fasten everything back up.
I often take the cage from the tail lift to the store , just seeing some young lass struggling to get a cage of beer off the tail lift with the chance it could go over on them is enough for me to tell them , you make me a cuppa, toast and I’ll get these cages in for them.
Also it can be hard work at stores ( unable to get dock leveller level ) to pull / push cages of beer / Pop off so I get them to help me get it off and I’ll help them wheel it across into store .
Far easier to work together than against each other , but your right on the strapping up ,
I hardly ever did Tesco store delivery’s. The cages mostly, were far too heavy to move safely. Wonky wheels, doors that would fly open etc… I used to refuse, and get a note on my file. And then extended probation.
And then a verbal warning.
And then a written warning. etc. You know why? Because I have a cracking pair of balls.
So the Beaver got the sack for saying no, so what? - Good on him I say!
What we don’t know, is exactly why he said no! Was it because he was being a bit of a Jessie, or wouldn’t do things that he felt were unsafe■■?
If it’s the latter, should we all bend over backwards, pull our trousers down and get pounded senseless time after time? As that doesn’t help anyone other than bosses wanting to push employee’s into unsafe working!
Perhaps if more people stood up for themselves, the industry as a whole would be better for EVERYONE!
Just a thought people…
P.S. I’ll still rib him about being sacked from Stobbies though!

I keep a diary of all unsafe practises I’ve been FORCED to do and back it up with text messages (none so far). Any defects raised are recorded along with when they’re repaired. Any time I’ve refused to move and the reason why is recorded (once).
I’ve never felt my job is at risk, maybe I’m just lucky to work for a decent company.
Yeah, but the full-timer wouldn’t have caused the fire in the first place by cooking river fish in his trailer, and then forgetting they had left it on, whilst checking with the agencski if they had work the following day.
