Keedwell u turn liverpool

Not the best of places to try a u-turn.

The new DHL / Stobart incorporating Keedwell

Looks like he lost traction trying to get over the grass on central reserve.

Since I moved to Class 1 I never realised how much grip an artic doesn’t have!

Doesn’t take much to stop the wheels gripping!

Technically…

Driving without due care and attention?

Careless driving?

There’s an offence there.

Then we need to lock him up and throw away the key.

Heaven forbid a driver just making a genuine ■■■■ up…

We’ve all took a wrong turning and had to swing it round at some point and on more than one occasion ive been half way round and thought “s***, its not gona make it” but have managed so far to avoid getting stuck so I wont lambaste this guy for it.
What I will do though is call him a ■■■■■■■ cockwomble for even thinking a u turn over the grass was a suitable idea.

No such thing as that on this forum mate. Everyones an expert who does no wrong and is as perfect as perfect can be.
The moral standard to be held to are what some on here seem to believe they are

I’m surprised my lot were on scene, how far from Switch Island was it?

That’s a bit harsh…

They need to be charged with what ever offence they’ve commited.

I’m more miffed that the Dcpc hasn’t stopped all of this stupidity.

Assuming there is an offence of course? Because none of us know the full circumstance. Yeah it was a silly error to go over the grass that much is obvious but what led to this not many on here will know.

Seriously? :open_mouth:

Thank goodness every bugger didn’t have a camera and desperate to be a youtube video tycoon back when i was a new driver making even more ■■■■ ups than i do now.

Why couldn’t the highways vehicle just pull him or her out?.They have got 4 x4 so it should be easy.

Right next to it on the A59.

Can’t understand why the driver didn’t just reverse. There is a massive yellow box junction about 10 meters behind him at the ASDA entrance where he’d have had no worries turning round.
Plenty of wagons go down there and then change their mind you can see the tyre marks on the ground where they’ve had to screw round in the junction.

Any number of reasons, was the vehicle full loaded? were the wheels stuck right in the mud? The officers might not have been enhanced carriageway clearance trained, the load cell in the patrol car may have been faulty meaning they can only drag 3 tonnes - or they’ve tried and the overweight alarm on the load cell has gone off.

Just looked again, it was just after Asda towards Old Roan, my old stomping ground growing up.

Not a good week for Keedwell eh!

Looks like the grass is torn up in a different place too, perhaps he followed another Driver over the grass, but didn’t make it?

Personally I wouldn’t even think of that manoeuvre! I’d be looking to reverse back into the junction to spin her round, and if it was too busy to pull that off I guess I’d be making a very embarrassing call to 101 to ask for help stopping the traffic.

Think we can only award this guy 4/10. Good work blocking a busy road and Asda car park in one move, but no actual bridge strike, shed load or wrecker needed. :grimacing:

He should’ve took a run up at it

At least for once it’s not stobarts making the news.

Driver made a mistake. No one was hurt. Nothing damaged other than a bit of grass. A few people were delayed. Crack on.

If your last sentence is correct fair play.
On the other hand ‘‘Enhanced carriageway clearance trained’’ ? :open_mouth: …I mean come on, a ■■■■■■■■ the 4x4 rear tow hook attached to the front hook on the unit, and rock both vehicles in unison.
I usually support you guys on here when the unfounded abuse is chucked at you by a lot of members, because you are only doing a job.
However to use H&S/corporate jargon ■■■■■■■■ as a reason for not trying?..Really?
Have a look at that vid of 1979 winter on the M62 where those Police Range Rovers were screaming their balls off when pulling that lad out of the snow.
Don’t for a minute think those lads were ‘‘Enhanced carriageway clearance trained’’ either, they just got on with it. :bulb:
