I swear I saw an advert for them last week offering £7.71 p/h, and £8.01 overtime rate. Not even joking.

Someone posted a advert a few months ago and yeah they pretty much are the wages, sure you hit the big overtime rate at 50 hours as well :open_mouth:

I thought time and a quid was bad enough, but this is time and 30p. I’d be laughing if that wasn’t so depressing.

He should lose his licence.

ffs. The guy made a mistake. He thought there was room and there wasnt. Lets not go overboard

Maybe if it was a road with 2 way traffic you could say he’d been a bit of a Muppet, but my understanding is he was attempting a U turn on a slip road onto the M11, so not only did he misjudge it, but if he’d been successful he would have been heading towards oncoming traffic.

This was easily doable unless you’re this driver

After watching that very slight, nothing to get alarmed about mishap, I watched this one (another mountain made out of a mole hill) and read some interesting comments.

Ah
Well if it was a slip road with one way traffic then he should also lose his car license as well

Can the courts in situations like this order that the driver has to sit another driving test?

A bit iffy that one Maost.
He’s obviously got the ‘ability’ to drive an artic becuse he has passed the test to do so.
Problem is he has attempted a U turn with an artic on a slip road, which is a big no no,… so the guy’s obviously a ■■■■ idiot. :bulb:
So basically it won’t matter how many driving tests he passes, he’ll still be a ■■■■ idiot, so what’s the point?

Fair point Rob, he’s obviously got the technical ability to pilot a lorry, but is lacking the mental aptitude for it. At the risk of being stereotypical here I’d hazard a guess that this sort of manoeuvre is commonplace in his home country, so perhaps its mindset that needs to be addressed.

There’s no real dramas in the first one but I would expect anyone driving professionally to have been able to spin it round on that roundabout really.

On the video you’ve linked the wrecker and police are there so would guess he’d been stuck and freed once already. Not clear if it is the driver reversing the next time. I rescued a Royal Mail artic once, who’d got stuck reversing, despite arriving in a wrecker and telling them I was obviously insured the Royal Mail manager on the phone refused to let anyone but their driver behind the wheel of their truck. In the end the police overruled them but only after another half dozen attempts.

Did he’s brother go over on the Forth bridge ?
Where the hell do Currie’s get their drivers ? Thicko’s R us ?

Curries were once a well respected outfit, with a group of bloody good drivers once over, one or two of which I used to know. They have either retired or moved on now.
I reckon it’s a peanuts and monkeys situation now.

aye they were Rob ,didn’t suffer fools at all!! but iirc Norman Currie sold out 2000ish and the “new owners” priced out the loyal O/O s and small companies that had once pulled all ower Europe and Russia and replaced them with cheaper foreigners. they never were in my opinion the best payers( in the sw rural Scotland it was competitive) but the money was always there on payday and the motors were kept in tiptop conditions.and if you did the job had no accidents you were left to it and what more could you ask for in them days.

Even if he was successful in his U-turn he would of been driving the wrong way up a slip road and we know how fast some BMW drivers look to drive down them.

The first video is an MAN. Even the Titanic would turn tighter than an MAN…
The second video, is an obvious ‘infallible 20 year old planner with a degree’ fick up. Why sent an artic to a blindside entry delivery in rush hour, when you have plenty of rigids to do that job.
