I swear I saw an advert for them last week offering £7.71 p/h, and £8.01 overtime rate. Not even joking.

Did he’s brother go over on the Forth bridge ?
Where the hell do Currie’s get their drivers ? Thicko’s R us ?Curries were once a well respected outfit, with a group of bloody good drivers once over, one or two of which I used to know. They have either retired or moved on now.
I reckon it’s a peanuts and monkeys situation now.
Mate of mine drove for them for over 10 years back in the day, a decent outfit back then, he made a decent wage and was happy with his lot. But then something happened, what I don’t know, but I do know for sure I wouldn’t touch them with the proverbial barge-pole.
See previous post about wages too, believe the overtime rate is around £8 per hour or so. I mean really, is this day and age…■■ I would like to think this may be an error, but to be honest I don’t hold out much hope…

He should lose his licence. No excuses … but then drivers wonder why the profession is on its knees … I think this fella is an embarrassment to decent drivers who seem to be few and far between.

Both the Forth road bridge incident, and this unfortunate mishap, would have been dealt with by a competent driver with an un restricted manual boxed lorry…How on earth would a manual gearbox make the out fit shorter? There isn’t enough room to spin it manual or auto.
How many trucks got stuck like this year’s ago?
You mean before the days of social meeja, dashcams, phone cameras etc.?

You have both confounded Me, as I was giving you “ND” the benefit that your post was one of sarcasm and wit, and at that “YHAL” had totally missed the point. But now I’m concerned that you “ND” actually meant what you posted.
As for this never happened years ago in a time before auto gearboxes and speed limiters, that’s because every brit driver worth his salt knows that you reverse back up the slip road

Another dash cam warrior wannabe copper there who thinks he’s something special reading out the trucks reg with the phonetic alphabet. Truck driver made an error but got himself out of it within about 30 seconds not really doing anything wrong.
Dash cams can be great to prove you weren’t at fault in an accident or to give the police evidence for a crash you witnessed, but for crying out loud, it’s not half made some people think are something special with them.

Yeah and the ones who say that move back in about a foot in front of you leaving you no safe gap if they slam on. I flash in when IM happy with the gap, not them.

About 3 months ago I was on a Saturday night out at the hollies and was talking to a curries driver. He was weekended from Saturday till Monday morning and as he was on salary of £480ish a week all he got extra was £45 for his 2 nights out. The real worry was he thought he was earning a decent wage.
I’d of bummed a lift back towards base and left it.
I rung them about 18 months ago for a job near Leigh, the wage was van drivers dough.
Chunkzilla:
Does he get points for effort?
Here’s hoping he gets twelve points…

I can only add…
I fail to see how a manual gearbox would have stopped the Curries lorry from being blown over on the Forth Bridge.
ND, if you’re being sarcastic… funar funar.
If yer not…yer an idiot.
