Saviem:
Gentlemen, great photographs, really evocative, and bring back the memories. Joints tractors always looked quite tidy, but just like my very good friends, Roy, John, (RIP), and Clive Jones, (Adam Jones and Sons), their trailers always reminded one of the “AAs gently undulating road”, so bent were the side raves. Yet so many other hauliers on the same type of traffic managed to keep tidy looking trailers. Why so?? Cheerio for now.
hi saviem,
you are bang on right with your comment about joint’s trailers, the damage to them,in my experience was caused mainly by the shunters, some of them were sadistic the scrap didn’t help either.

Andrew do you know if any ones got any NG or SK cabbed Mercs on the show scene ? And where have they all gone ? !!
Tony
hi tony,
g800 was a phenomenal motor.in it’s day.you have to remember it was new over 20 years ago.with regard to sk mercs. on the show circuit.to be honest there are very few.sparshatt’s in kent have a 1628 recently restored and jeffries from stratford-on -avon have a classic 1632 v10,now they were some machine .nobody,to my knowledge has restored a g cab 1748…yet .
regards andrew.
Hi Andrew I bet the 1748 flew there was speed restictors then ! Yes if I won the lottery i would love too have a merc done out in Joints colours and do the shows with it. Mind you i bet you would have too go abroad too get one . Tony
