Cannock depot is a decent location to work from. Pay is OK, so is the work. But if you’re English, for God’s sake don’t work out of the Bridgend depot. They have a real issue with the English, and you’ll get s**t on regularly.

BS.
They’re not that bad to work for same as every other company good and bad points. If Dean is still in the office watch ya back there never got on with him
Could be worth checking the trailer height :?:
Could be a job going now after bridge strike
What like this?

When are these councils going to learn to put these steel warning barriers 20 or 30mt back from these bridges so only the barrier gets damaged and the driver gets a warning early enough to stop? If certain bridges are getting hit that often it has to be cheaper for a warning barrier than a bridge strike.
Ossie
That’s a well used short cut to the A34 I think it is and from what I remember plenty of warning of a low bridge. There are signs before it driver should have known height of the trailer

That’d be common sense though. They probably aren’t that bothered about trailers getting written off & the bridges rarely get damaged. Why should they take money from their non existent pot hole fund for so called sensible steel barrier.
Is a sign saying “low bridge” and the height in feet and metres not enough? Whenever a driver hits a bridge, other drivers always jump to the idiots’ defence, blaming lack of signs, bridge being too low etc…

+1 also ,is a 14’ 9" bridge classed as low ?

Well yes but I’d also put a lemming steel barrier at the top of a cliff to help the stoopid buggers out like.

Depends what you’re driving. In this case, a resounding yes.
He may be a Satnav Sandy. I was at a location near there recently and put my home location into my TomTom 5150 which is set for our highest trailers, 16"2. It routed me to the M4 at J16, just the other side of this bridge. It was a new drop so I consulted my Philips Truck Navigator for peace of mind and saw this bridge. I have reported it to TomTom using my unit several times but it’s still not been added.
One of the yew times my map has trumped my satnav.
thats the bridge near iceland rdc swindon but hes coming thru the other side .if he was on theother side theres a warning stating over height vehicle turn left its a 14’9" bridge trailer was 15’1"plus 1" for fifth wheel the volvo is a rite off he was a new driver in his first week
They dont look after there drivers so they leave and employ agy and new drivers I suppose its a learning curve but dont look good on cv hitting a bridge especially over height hope tdw aint got any tallboys lol
decent wagons, but away all week and long hours, including some weekends, thats why they are allways advertising because not many drivers want that kind of life

Hello, Can anyone tell me what John Raymond are like to work for, They seem to have been advertising on their website for sometime for drivers. Do they offer regular work and are their rates of pay ok. Also do they do assessment drives for new drivers. Many Thanks.
if you are in Swindon try rapier employment in old town,it is an agency but you get regular work [5 days a week] its quite easy work [pallets and flower trollies ]and once you leave the yard they do not bother you at all, most of the vehicles are 06 and 58 plate but it is still good work

So how is this connected to John Raymond Transport?
Sorry to resurrect but has anyone had any recent experience with this firm?
