What does it matter about a taco been in when your washing off on a sat morn. Honestly who gives a f##k!

not trying to be pedantic, but VOSA would give a F%&k if they found out

Do shuttlespankers drivers put there tachos in when washing down on a saturday
:unamused: would be nice to no

Well happy new year to most of you

Ref: Tacho’s and washing down all drivers leave there cards in until washed down and yes you must wash down at the end of every week as told at busy interview.
Wages are always displayed on adverts your choice if you want to work for the money or not.My choice if i want to employ you.The job doesn’t suit a lot of people and most of the time you can pick this up at the interview stage. Now Mr Hoss1960 as told at your interview which at the start i told you Saturdays are very busy and I would get interrupted by the phone or drivers and my attitude is as anybody that knows me will tell you is to the point and no [zb]. Which then brings me to the point that we tried to ring you to tell you that you did not get the job but the number you left did not ring and you did not call back we then wrote to you at address supplied we can do no more of which you failed to put in your original post. All applicants that do not get the position there details are destroyed because i will not be needing them again.

So if you would like to work for me and do come to a interview i will answer the phone if it rings i will speak to when spoken to by my drivers and i don’t employ [zb] or Dirty [zb]. Money is what it is, Job is what it is and wont change for you or your wife and if you can’t work hard you wont last. I run very good equipment well taxed, well Tyre’d and well serviced ( every 4 weeks not like most ). So if your a good driver and clean we will get on great if you are not we won’t so don’t come for the job, Remember i don’t make you take the pay or the job.

Nevereasy

I reckon that cleared that up then

its a glory boy outfit and he pays peanuts because hes only making peanuts himself pulling ferry trailers for a quid twenty a mile. no-one in their right mind would be even considering taking a job with them. and of course they have their tacho cards in whilst washing on saturday morning. yes, absolutely so… :unamused:

Looking at a job ad from last year he pays Ā£450 to Ā£480 for a 48 hour week over 6 days now we all no about 48 hours working and 30 hours waiting but if it was 48 hours that’s Ā£10 per hour and 8 hours per day so good pay. If it’s for max hours of 84 then it’s only Ā£ 5.70 per hour. Not a job I would want

About 18 months ago I was offered a job trunking Hull to Aberdeen 4 days one week 6 next very good money but boss wanted drivers in at weekend to wash and polish trucks and help him with servicing so I turned him down it’s he’s truck if it needs cleaning fit it in my working week or do it yourself

Oa ?
You are just the sort of bloke I need pmsl
Oh and sometimes we wash our glory machines on a Friday but don’t tell anyone
Oh and we have Big V8’s so we must be running bent and have check shirts.
But please come and work for me you can take your truck to truckfest and pay me.

Grow some you keyboard warriors bring it on

I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw one of my drivers washing down on a saturday

Oh yes, that’s why, it’s because they usually do it on a Friday before they finish their working shift, if they can’t do it on a Friday, they do it during the week, digi tacho card in

I don’t know you, but, you are free to come to the yard and watch them if you wish, or even ask them, 2 of them are members on here

Hope this answers your question

don’t sit on the fence jobe , come out with what you mean , lol . when did drivers , er steering wheel attendants start whinging about hours and working out what you should be paying ? do the runs , draw the wages , job done . no wonder the no hopers are all scratching about for agency work .the transport industry isn’t and never was a 9 to 5 job , if you can’t stand the heat , stay out of the kitchen .

Hi Mr Jobby, who’s making assumptions now? :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, I can’t remember the last time I washed a truck…

Just had a quick google, I’ve seen enough lights to make me think I’m not missing much…

Great post!!
I would love to work for someone like you JOBE, it makes a refreshing change to listen to someone who tells it like it is and not have to listen to the corporate ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  that I have to. I’m promised the earth and given sweet [zb] all and wouldn’t trust my management team as far as I could spit. At least people know where they stand with you.
And for those of you who don’t seem happy with what you’ve got…I got made redundant from the best job I’ve ever had (Woodsides Haulage, Preston) and really miss being on the road so, for me, spending 2 hours on a Saturday morning washing my wagon would be a small price to pay to have the only job I’ve ever wanted to do (lorry driving) back. I’m still driving to a fashion (heavy plant, ro-ro trucks etc.) but only around the waste plant I now work in and, ok, I earned Ā£30k last year for working 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday + overtime but I am constantly monitored by the 140 cctv cameras we have around the site, constantly told how to drive and operate machinery by managers/supervisors who aren’t even qualified to do my job and have the threat of disciplinary action hanging over me at the first sign of any slight bump, scrape or bang. So if you’re one of those on here who whinge and moan about working over Christmas/New Year/Bank Holidays etc. just take a step back and realise what you’ve got because I know what I’d rather do. There are bigger things to worry about out there and I would swap you jobs in a heartbeat!!
My head hurts now…I’m off for a beer. Happy New Year

Well said.

JOBE.

You sound like my ideal employer.

From your post I get that you want:

A bloke who turns up when he’s told
who doesn’t crash
who takes pride in his job
Who takes pride in your lorry
Who does as he’s ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  told.
Who thinks for himself.
Who gets the job done
Who doesn’t ring in every five minutes and just gets it sorted

In return said bloke gets

Wages
A complete absence of bull ā– ā– ā– ā– .
Kit that works and it kept up exactly as it should be.
A job for more than 5 minutes as long as you meet the above criteria
A complete absence of ā– ā– ā– ā–  wits in the yard. No moaners, no dummy spitters and teddy throwers.

It sounds like a place I’d work if I was looking.

I don’t understand the attitude of I want a million quid a week for half an hours driving and I want to do that between 11 and 1130.

The haulage industry is in ā– ā– ā– ā–  order because it’s populated by lazy tired ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  with tickets on themselves.

Knuckle down. Get the ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  job done and take your wages belt up moaning and perhaps the your employer won’t have to spend the money advertising your job and you can have what he saves in your wages
