Jobcentreplus?

Agency will call me as soon as they have Work again.
well,Just here isn’t much around.
No one takes Drivers or warehouse on.
No constructions site without CSCs or what License
Im eating too much for work in a Kitchen and my English is not good enough for a Reception.
Some Jobs are only for the Young from the UNI,for other im too Old or too Fat.
Gardener doesnt works as you need to be experienced or under 26 to keep National minimum Wages on a lower Level, and other gives you a Mail saying if they dont respond in a 4 week then you are not successful.
Now,by sure there are plenty Jobs left, but a Carer needs Criminal History Check which also needs weeks to do,and some dont advertise as they employ if someone gets recommended.
On the other Hand you are not taken for just a few Weeks if you need Training and many Jobs posted by Agency who have that Job already covered and just leave it open as Self-Promotion.To show activity.

As I understand it now also, the jobcentre require you to work full time for one week for an employer without pay to assess your suitability, a relative of mine has been told that for each interview he attends he must tell them that he would be willing to do this, he must also add this to his CV.
You still receive your jobseekers allowance.

This has been covered on here many times before and a lot of companies are exploiting this to use free labour and then tell people that they are unsuitable.

You gotta love the tories, they won’t be happy until we have the mill owners back and the work houses, they closed all the mines and now they are trying to close everything else - oh except the multi billion pound a year loss making banks.

From The Guardian website…
"Britain’s jobless young people are being sent to work for supermarkets and budget stores for up to two months for no pay and no guarantee of a job, the Guardian can reveal.

Under the government’s work experience programme young jobseekers are exempted from national minimum wage laws for up to eight weeks and are being offered placements in Tesco, Poundland, Argos, Sainsbury’s and a multitude of other big-name businesses.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) says that if jobseekers “express an interest” in an offer of work experience they must continue to work without pay, after a one-week cooling-off period or face having their benefits docked."

If this is correct it is an absolute disgrace

I reckon the biggest reason for getting turned down for jobs nowdays is
“Wasn’t prepared to work for nothing”.

Give 'em an inch, and they’ll take a mile.

If JC+ offered me some bum job where I’m expected to “Pay Pit Owner to Employ Uz…” I would ask for a pickup in the minibus so I can circumvent wasting my fuel to get to work. Why waste your tax-paid money on getting to low-paid work?
If people don’t stand up for such deals, they won’t ever get them. It’s not as if other staff don’t get the minibus laid on for them, so why not for a driver? Perhaps Self-employed drivers should consider invoicing for time spent travelling to work directly rather than touching HMRC via the expense sheet…?

In the meantime, cheap liability insurance will ensure that the accident-prone but prepared-to-take-low-pay worker gets the job ahead of a fusspot like me who always holds out for the plum rates.

If they’ve got anything for drivers at the jobcentre you can bet that the advert will probably be something along the lines of class C,or even C+E,driver required, local multi drop work, wages and hours to be agreed at interview. :smiling_imp:

That’s because all the jobs that actually pay wages are reserved for east european immigrants ‘who want to work’ whereas the British have to be treated like slaves for their own good to get them into the east european commie work ethic. :open_mouth: :smiling_imp:

I’m sure Sainsbury’s told them to gtf & are not part of this.

FlyFifer:

Well any self respecting company would not employ people for nothing for up to eight weeks! Many would but we are talking corporate greed.

If forced to do this for nothing except their benefit can you really see people working or just turning up every day to say that they are there, not well thought through, and you can bet a pound to a tory ■■■■ party that while you are on these “schemes” that you all of a sudden disappear from the unemployment figures. These buggers talk about being more open as well

Please dont bring the Nazis down to the level of our current breed of politicians!

Would that be “Must be fit enough to touch toes” coupled with “Prepared to bring own lubricant!”

I feel from the workers that comit ‘financial suicide’…

Get made redundant… Jobcentre offers them a new job but wages won’t even cover 'living expenses (mortgage, car ect)… Jobcentre then stops any benefits! :imp:

Lose, lose and lose again situation!! :unamused:

How much more damage can this country take before all hell breaks loose?

Goldfinger dont worry.
From now on it gets back,up the Hill
Every Immigrant needs to bring a £31000.- to £49000.- with him,as i heard.

Too late for that we had our chance in 1984 and blew it.Anyone who’s got a mortgage and a family to keep without having some decent private income protection in place is a form of financial suicide.Jobseekers Allowance is just like the so called ‘incapacity’ benefit in which the zb’s are stopping tax for worthless cover that no one with any sense would pay for voluntarily but the theiving zb’s in the government won’t let anyone opt out and have the tax back to help pay for some proper private insurance premiums instead that would cover their previous earnings until they find equivalent employment. :imp:

I think that just applies to marriages involving non EU nationals. The commy zb’s have made it so that if a born and bred British middle aged bloke finds an American or whatever bird who the autorities think is too young for him or not rich enough they won’t let him bring her into the country. But if it’s an Asian etc who wants to enter Britain by joining their husband or wife in Britain you can bet that the commy pc zb’s would consider it a breach of their human rights to be stopped on those grounds. :unamused:

As an aside I’m fairly certain this scheme was used by the previous government, it’s just that it’s received more press coverage recently.

here is a tip re jobcentre / signing on situation > bite tongue (mentally) and agree 2 everything they request, if u really do need the money from them , as i currently do,it so back foots them , agreeing ,and nothing they will ask u to do will be anything more than annoying,(exeption being working for nothing , i may have 2 think long and hard re that one.when the argueing starts ,they usually will “win” re suspension of benifits etc etc,)re lack off other certs. remember you are entitlled to i.l.a.funding £200 towards training c.s.c.s.card? i ve got 2 courses now via same = 14 hours towards cpc AND AN OFFICIAL 1ST AID CERT1!can"t be bad .AND, IF U (ANYONE)has told the staff /indicated on forms that you have a vehicle to use , tell them it "|s "blown up , completely u/s cos otherwise you will be expected to drive for hours to attend a poxy min wage job ,which will , once u work it out ,i.e. , true running cost if vehicle per mile and time driving (not paid for) prob. put you on perhaps£2-£3 pounds an hour ! all work in a capitalist country should leave you in genuine profit once all your living costs are deducted.(well, in my experience/opinion)
