well giving notice in at surefreight
so there will be a job going
mind it seems there is one every week just now
reason being i want to keep my licence and wages amount to slave labour
start sunday maybe drive 6 hours park up…full week maybe finish around 1700 friday…max hours every day…5 nights out and if lucky £430 in the bank
planners cannot understand why you cannot make the ferry as you have only driven 6 hours but you are near the end of a 15 spread
W T D is not part of surefreights working but some are happy as they have been there years, you can tell them ones, the ones who wont flash or let on to you on the road or help if you need it
i now know why i could not find any info on them.
well well well i am finishing tomorrow
i drive one of the daf 95s
cannot say any more as you have put the job as it is.
ops i am parked on the hollies and a scania driver from surefreight parked next but one pulled his curtains and thats that
i just hope he doesnt need my help in the morning

Never watch TV in the cab, or at home really. I always go to the truckers rest further down the road. The big signs they have inside the Hollies saying its a truck theft hotspot put me off !!

Might have seen you parked at Northampton services the day Northamptonshire got the snow?
If it was you and I woke you up with my revving then I appologise but some â– â– â– in an Asda artic got stuck at the top of the hill by the garage which meant I got stuck when I went to go - 6x2 auto artics arent a good idea
I have driven for Surefreight now for about 10 years – I can only say that they are a more than fair employer and all of their lorries are of a high standard. The only dirty lorries that they have are made that way by some of the ill bred ill mannered drivers that they have had the misfortune to employ-- God only knows what state their houses are when the lorry that they sleep in stinks to high heavens. In all my years with Surefreight I have never been asked to drive over my hours and find that the transport managers have every understanding of drivers hours. As for making the boat – I find that if I don’t ■■■around in cafes and laybys for a big part of the day then I have no problems. I have never seen any incidents with Surefreight drivers not helping each other out – well apart from a few with manner or ego problems who deserve to be left at the side of the road. Sadly we always seem to get stuck with this type from time to time, fortunately a few have left recently, leaving the REAL drivers to get on with the job in hand… Happy trucking guys and hopefully the next new driver to fill this guys shoes will be of a decent calibre.

says the surefreight manager
One company
Two opinions
Two depots - Is this the reason for the different views

The Bradford ( Surefreight International ) depot is run separately from NI depot ( Surefreight Ltd. ) All drivers in Surefreight lorries are employed by Surefreight Newry. As with any company there will always be different opinions – from those who want to work and earn a decent wage and from those who would rather ■■■■■and cause trouble.
so why does surefreight have a high turnover of drivers
maybe the real drivers can see how surefreight is and want nothing to do with a firm run the way it is
there isnt much work about but drivers want to hold on to their licence so they leave
as for the state of their trucks well maybe one of the old hands like toplinerboy would let francis know about them as there is plenty of drivers only willing to drop fellow drivers in the [zb].
talking about the state of the trucks maybe if surefreight looked after the trucks then the driver may look after them a bit better
my unit never got inspected or had a service in 4 months i had it
but real drivers dont mind these sort of things do they
nor trailers that heve been reported with a defect only for you to get the same trailer a few weeks later with the same defect because it has been sent to ireland tipped and reloaded and sent back
roll on friday and my unit will be clean not like when i got it

makes me wonder how some of these irish hauliers are still in buisness just report them to vosa when you leave not your problem then fella
Toplineboy you are a manager, so go manage or not as the case maybe…
