Job going at surefreight

Is Vincent still at Surefreights then in the office in Ireland? I worked for them for a few months and found them ok, i had a topliner Scania and was checked often when serviced and by vosa etc out on the roads and was always fine, yes you worked some long hours but i didn’t find them much different to work for than any other UK or Irish firm really

so dave555 they are the same as most in the uk/ireland  so why do i have 4 months worth of tacko"s :open_mouth: :open_mouth: i was never asked for them :exclamation: and like most drivers there didnt hand them in so when i have gone i cannot have any come backs if surefreight get inspected   and if they were a fair company why did you leave after a few months like most drivers there

4 months worth!! man get them handed in its down to you to hand them over cover your own ■■■, make sure they sign a form to say they e recieved them just incase , am sure the longest time you can hold onto them is 45 days legally or might be 49 rog or coffee will no

why have you got loads of tacho’s when i think most of the trucks they had there at the time were digi card, i left cos i went back to work for Carna after we’d had a fallen out but went back after they phoned me and asked if i’d go back, i’d happily work for Surefreight again too cos i always found Vincent ok and the firm seemed ok to me but i’ve no idea what the uk bit was like to work for cos i worked for the Irish bit out of Newry so i can’t comment on Bradford

worked out of heysham not bradford and the daf cf"s are tacho"s and got work from newry office. dont know names of traffic clerks only delt with uk1. uk2, uk3 and uk4. never had an interview in person only on the phone so would"nt know adam from eve

thats the difference working out of newry and not heysham as you would prob park your unit up there and the fitters would look at your unit over the weekend. unlike heysham were the only people to look at your unit is the drivers pinching thing off it :imp: drivers breaking mirrors and lights etc and taking them from other drivers units :imp:

what happened to the cardiff depot?
had a mate work there said it was good job but long hours he had a topline V8 that went like a train, but then again all the irish trucks do

on sick 2 wks and was told about this online forum ha ha better than jermy kyle  drove for surefreight 11 mths ago and “sour grapes” comes to mind, i relocated so had to leave, guys in office fair and yes long hours but hey if you want to graft you work whatever hours necessary. never at risk of losing my licence and would advise “major moan” to drive a bus. drivers work, women moan  yeah cardiff still going strong, mate of mine is in there regular

The Surefreight truck’s do push on a bit but sure fair play if they can get away with it. I’d sooner push on than sit at home ,but that’s just me. Oh yeah maybe because i’m a McManus aswell

Well well, where do i begin, Surefreight as a company may look big and proffessional, but the management dont care about the drivers, they ran bent for a lot of years and still think they can, it is up to the drivers to tell the planners what time you have, even though they are watching you on the tracking system and know fine well, but they will try it on. The new drivers that are starting, two a week at the moment are probably glad to be working, and therefore dont want to rock the boat and say NO to getting the trailer back for the boat, so therefore run over their time, and if you do it once , they will want you to do it all the time. Two of the planners dont have hgv licence’s and the other two have, so there you go. THERE will never be a proper depot in the HeyshamMorecambe area, The yard on Newgate, White Lund Industrial Estate, Morecambe, LA3 3PT, is being used until it is SOLD, There is NO operators licence for this site. So when the site is sold it will be parking the trucks over the railway line @ Heysham Port. You’re earnings are paid on trip, so you are chasing you’re ■■■, Surefreight have a bad name in Heysham for employment, so there is drivers from as far as Cheshire, Merseyside and Manchester. You get stopped by VOSA on average once a month, so keep you cards clean and you’re truck in order or £60 fines, ABS light on with most trailers. KEEP HER LIT!!!
