I first thought this was gonna be a dodgy thread that would be binned straightaway.
But 'tis another thread about how everyone is paying more money these days.
.
.
Can see the why 3am early starts are necessary, you wouldn’t want one of the bad layby slots, would you?

I might be reading wrong but it looks as though the money quoted includes night out money, not that good if it is

That’s how I read that too, so about £31k, no safe parking paid for, and
“The driver to have his break while unloading on the bay (Containers only)”

I imagine if your diesel gets siphoned off while you’re kipping in the layby you’ll be expected to answer for it…

Yeah - But they provide antibac gel and a facemask!

Plus, the only director of the company is a 35 year old Lithuanian lady - maybe best to brush up on your EE language skills if you want to work for them.

Not even there own countrymen will be stupid to take that, or will they ?

Credit for honesty I s’pose!
They aren’t promises of big money.
.
If assume £25 For night out? That’s 115 quid per day. If you take one hour unpaid break, that’s £8.20ish for a 15hr spread. Less than minimum wage.
.
Maybe the boss has big, jiggly,
.
.
eye-lashes?

She thinks she’s still at home paying EE Wages

It is up to the driver to decide what to do on a break , not the employer and the driver is not free to dispose of their own time while waiting to unload, even though someone else is doing it .Here today, gone tomorrow company.
Parking in a lay by , get the Lithuanian boss lady to do it when she wants a number two in the hedge.

That’s the definition of a daily rest period not a break, so I’d check up on that if I were you.

You wouldn’t last long at Maritime or Goldstar (and the rest) if you had spent 3 hours + on a loading bay and then pulled into the services for a 45.

Shame Dozys not down in Southampton, that would be right up his street having his ■■■ run ragged by a pointy stiletto ■■■■■ and kipping in a lay by, a match made in heaven I’d say

But what about DPD? I’ve heard you’re not allowed to stop? Anyone else? :smiling_imp:

Nothing wrong with it if that is what you like to do, but drivers that give up a weekend to take their gaffers prize lorry to truck shows then polish the anti kangaroo bull bar on the front grill for free .

Won’t someone think of the kangaroos ■■

What’s the dedicated/ allocated lorry ? An ERF Eaton twin splitter gearbox day cab with no bunk , sleeping inside the container to guard the clay overnight!Or an Iveco 360 Turbo star , Volvo FL 10 Wendy house ?

I saw a kangaroo on the M1 southbound the other night , must have escaped from a zoo with Highways England giving chase.

More likely an ex fleet poverty spec Merc 2545 space cab on springs. Can pick them up for about £2.50 on the second hand market.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they started double manning with double bunks ofc with lay-by only jobs soon.

Oh crap I shouldn’t give people ideas
